Wyman back with the Stones?

I had to learn a couple of Stones songs and I was amazed just how good Wyman and how unique his style is..
It has its roots in rock but it still sounds funky to me in a way.. Give me Wyman anytime (above Flea :-))
People who mock him should have a go at learning a Stones song, you'd be surprised.
I'm always amazed by the people in the UK and how they can put their "own" people down while the rest of Europe (also here in Belgium) is envious of what your country had contributed to pop music (same thing with McCartney around here).
Weird folks ..
Have a listen to this (the whole song !), it has some great fills and the feel is unique..

Never understood the "Bill's not much cop" thing. I thought he fitted the band far better than Darryl Jones, who IMO gave them a different feel which (also IMO) didn't work half as well. I really like Bill's playing in the Stones, always have.

I totally agree there.

"Oi Keef, ows abaht bringing Bill back on Bass?"

"Yeah Mick, magic innit"

Keef, for all his dissolute image, is frightfully well spoken. I reckon he'd have said "Jolly spiffing wheeze, old chap".

I saw them at Wembley Stadium on the Steel Wheels tour -

So will this one be the Steel Wheelchairs tour?

I suppose if you're going to do one last money making tour, you should get as close to the original lineup as you can. The Quo are doing one with Alan Lancaster possibly next year, could it be their final tour?

I love the bass runs at the end of 19th Nervous Breakdown. In fact that's my favourite era of the Stones.

I also really like Undercover of the Night but apparently it was recorded twice - once with Bill and again with Robbie Shakespeare and I get the feeling that the one that was released was Robbie as their's a bit of popping going on.

I doubt I'll go but, I can say that if you love the stones and could go and enjoy it for whatever it's going to be this maybe your last chance.

I missed CSN the other year, I know stills was struggling, but I regret not seeing him, If I get the chance again (which i doubt) he will be older still.

Quo are the specialists in final tours though, aren't they?

Bugger, that was my favorite Stones' bass line... Still, prefer Wyman to anyone else playing with the Stones, but I won't pay a kidney to see them live, big stadium gigs are not my thing anymore...

Sounds to me like a pick being used.

Chris Kimsey, the engineer for the session, says Bill Wyman played bass.

It certainly sounds Wyman-esque to me... And I love the video!

Yeh, great vid. :)

I was once in a play (Jenkins Ear) which is a political thriller set in South America in the 1980s. I persuaded the director to use this as the incidental music. It set the atmosphere perfectly.
