Ernie Ball Super Slinkys Coated

I was in the fortunate position to be offered a set of 4 string coated strings for nowt. I know that Elixer coated strings are well respected on here, but anyone tried the Ernie Balls?

Ive used the ernies, pretty good for the money, last longer than your standard, ive had some on for nearly a year and they are only now needing replacement.

I had earthing issues when I tried Elixirs even though I liked the sound and feel of the strings and they lasted forever.

I'll have to give coated Slinkys a go.

I need to try either these or Elixirs. I sweat like a glass blowers arse live, so my strings (ususally Slinkys) go off pretty quick. I'm currently trying D'Addarios for a change because I've been disappointed with the longevity of Slinkys recently. So I might have a look at these.

I have the coated set on my MM Stingray and the tone is very good. I have only had them on for 3 weeks so time will tell if they'll last the course. But so far so good.

Just ordered a set of regular ones, almost did it but £35 is a mouthfull especially when I need 3 packs!

As a long term Rotosound user on Precisions, having recently acquired a Stingray I`m tempted by a set of these, figuring they`ll work well together, but the regular sets E string is only 105 - I like 110s

And at £35 a hit, expensive if I don`t like.

I might try them, saw some where the A D G strings seem to be a bit thicker than normal........ Perhaps I'll be able to hit the G string a bit easier :-).

I just put some of the Cobalt hybrid coated Slinkys on my Stingray, like Lozz I thought they'd be a good match, my first impressions are that they are very hot and zinggy (I would say that coming from having flats on there).. My plan is to let them hopefully die a bit and then never change them lol.

I've gone for the Elixirs for my Precision. Yolanda Charles has been waving the flag for them for so long, I've decided to give 'em a go.

Update - Well, I have had these on my Fender P for a coupla weeks now and am very impressed Obviously not had these on nearly long enough to comment on their longevity but nice and easy on the fingers and a nice full tone, and very easy to play finger-style, 8 to the bar.

£35 for a set of strings? Flippin eck. I'd expect them to be delivered by horseman and fitted for me by Leo Fender wearing a tutu for that price!

I've tried Elixirs and EB coated (in fact all coated strings). My experience is Elixirs last longer than all the others. Not expensive when you consider how long they last.
