moving the strap button on a semi-acoustic bass

the strap button on my dearmond starfire is currently at the heel of the neck and it makes the bass hang forward....quite uncomfortable to be honest

i'd like to move it to the top horn to improve the balance (see attached...)

thing is, i'm worried that the wood there is far too thin to support the weight of the bass and the strap button will just pull out and damage the bass.

i've though of trying to inject something like polysestger resin into the upper horn using a flexible bit of pipe, but this sems a bit hit and miss....

any ideas ?
A thick, wide suede type leather strap helps. What kind of strap are you using?
a very wide montana leather strap.

it doesn't stop the bass rotating away from me...as if it wants to lie face-down on the floor at my feet.
