OK - I haven't had time to update... been pretty snowed under today....

but... here is something for you to check out.

It's a take on a Spitfire... but with a difference... The customer loves the way that Bernie's basses play but wanted something very old school... with 21 frets. As the Spitfire body is made to accomodate a two octave neck, the standard body dimensions don't quite work or lend itself to a 21 fret neck. So..... This is the result, a completely passive (vol, vol, tone aka jazz circuit with your normal single coils...) jazz/spitfire mashup!

Enjoy!

More to follow when I get 5!

Thats mine! haha. I guess at the moment that really is one of a kind. I should put some pics up and contribute, tho it really is not a show piece for me but a practical, basic workhorse.

Thanks for putting a pic on here.

Cheers

Knew I should have gone with a maple board - my Rumour would be classed as rare too then!!
Each to their own... :)
Another on eBay - Russ' take on a Rumour (in that it's slightly differently shaped and has the modified headstock to allow for the dual hipshots)...
I'm gutted that I don't have a spare £1400 to get it again. I do miss my old Rumour!

I think someone here should buy it, so at least then I'll know it's gone to a good home. :)
Here's some photographs of my friend and bass teacher, Bren Travis's Nightingale 6 string. I've been talking to EBS_Freak and he thinks it's probably one of less than 10 existing:
Ask him where he bought it, it looks like my old bass - superb bass, massive sound - I traded it in up at Electromusic in Doncaster many years ago - swapped it for a Yamaha TRB-6 (why did I do that?!!).

Do you ever use it though?! Or have you taken off the low B and high C!?

I do actually sometimes get it out and have a play but its the world's heaviest bass!
Ha ha.

Does it come with its own scaffolding?

On another note...

Mr Mike B - I see one slipped through the net and has made it's way to you before going up to the Midlands... so... come on, some new pics :)
