Very well done Bilbo!! Never mind the certificate... having your book in a library must be hugely satisfying :)

Well deserved I'm sure.

I think you are the second person to actually FINISH it!! It a bit like Ulysses. A lot of people start it but give up about 30 pages in!!!

Thanks for making the effort!

Congratulations on the award. Seems like the price has gone up as a result.

Well done Bilbo! Nothing like your first royalty cheque! :)
Don't worry about Australia - Jazz hasn't reached the furthest colonies yet, they're a bit behind the times.

Nice two-page review of my book by Mark Gridley of Cleveland, Ohio in Notes: Quarterly Journal of the Music Library Association.

'This book should prove indispensable to students of jazz bass, historians of modern jazz, and fans who love hard bop. It constitutes a reference work that every music library should have'.

It's Paul Chambers' 80th birthday today.

It is also the birthday of Charles Mingus and Barry Guy!!

I got my second royalty cheque for the book this week. My 7 year effort has so far earned me about £350! They have sold 619 copies!! In truth, I don't mind. I am just thrilled that it is out there.

Just got this feedback on the book from a new 'friend' on Facebook.

'Rob Palmer  just so you know 2 years ago I was playing a week in Greece with the great Kirk Lightsey when I was reading it and I end up giving him the book. Kirk was a very close friend of P.C. and he fell in love with your book... this is the best proof your book is extremely valuable. Thank you for doing such a great job '!

Warms the cockles.
