This looks good - but I don't know much about them.

G&Ls are stunning instruments designed by Leo Fender. The Tribute range are the Far East made versions of the better USA made instruments. The main difference is the quality of wood and better craftsmanship of the USA factory which is in the original Fender factory. £589 seems a lot for a Tribute. If you dig around you could probably pick up a used USA G&L for that price. The L2000 has more like a Precision kneck and the Asat is like a Telecaster with a Jazz neck. The electrics are the same on both and are awesome. They are like no other classic USA bass and are v flexible; they can be run active or passive and in or out of phase. I would highly recommend them if you like Fender or MusicMan instruments. G&Ls are better quality than both IMO.

+1. I have one which is identical to the one in your link. They are one of the most versatile sounding basses. The Tributes are made in Indonesia to G&L specs. The pick ups and electronics are the same as those on a USA G&L L2000. The main difference between the Tribs. and the USA ones are in the finish, body wood, tuners, and choice of neck size. Regarding the latter, the Tribs come in only one neck size, i.e. 1.75" @ the nut and 12" radius. The USA ones can have different neck sizes, like a jazz neck. The actual physical difference between Tribs. and USA ones, is quite minimal, ( as is the tone difference) when you consider the price gap.

So to answer your question...is this good ? YES !! It's more than good. It is an excellent bass for the price, and as "tomtraubert" says above, even better value if you can get a used one.
