Very Bootsy-esque, love it.

Hey guys!
I've added a track - it was for a 'punk' band. They sent the guitar/drum track before we jammed and asked I send back a sample bass line so they could weed out those who couldn't be arse'd putting in any effort or couldn't play. I'm not sure I ticked either box but I thought I'd play busy - it was a punk gig after all :)

The quality is poor but I hope you enjoy!

They've mentioned that it's a bug that needs fixing. The detailed view of your stats doesn't update with the real number of listens apparently. I'm also not sure whether it counts me as a listen when I'm logged in and listening to my own stuff.

And +1 for this being a sticky :)

It being a bug does explain it, thanks.

And another +1 for this being a sticky.

Hi fella - I took it off as I realised my song sounded really out of place with the other great tracks here - and was more me playing everything within a song format than showcasing any particular bass skills. :)

Everything goes dude.....do you own thing, makes for more interest.
Your track can't be more out of place than my Orchestral attempt.... :)

Cheers Garry - your track sounds incredible - excellent stuff. Are these authentic instruments or samples? I can't tell the difference.

Sample patches, Loaded into Kontakt from the East West Library.

Your track sounds great, really up front & punchy.

I think there's room for all sorts of stuff - not just bass-based (??) music. I think your track is cool, and fits right in.

Some great stuff on here. Thanks for making it a sticky.

Yup, I agree.

Really enjoying all the various tracks that are being added to this group... I've said it before, but I've been really surprised by how varied and eclectic our musical tastes are. Great stuff :)

Cheers to Urb for pinning this sucka!

Keep 'em coming folks...

'Acht' is probably the most accessible. :) . It is all improvised from the off and what you get is what you get. Unfortunately. :) :o

'The five minutes' was all done without any of us hearing what had already been put down so we were working blind, and is the only one we have done non-live together as it were. The best bit is the cat purr near the beginning. :) Oh we enjoy doing it so stop complaining. :o

Hell yea, Soundcloud is the place for finding interesting music rather than the type of dross that's in the charts (you know the stuff, anything remotely related to X-Factor and the like). I'll hear a track on there that will spark something in me and will inspire me to record something in a similar vein. For example, Skol's remix of Haitian Fight Song (http://soundcloud.com/skollob/haitian-fight-song-youtube) inspired this: http://soundcloud.com/mornats/in-a-small-and-smokey-club.

Thanks for the sticky by the way :)

I like Helium! Very much my cup of tea. This is not easy listening, but it's damn good! It couldn't handle The 5 Minutes, sorry, but I did like Acht. Your bass tone is really nice, deep and rubbery in the low end, and loads of chorus (I think). Quirky playing, not sounding like Karn, but with lots of his sort of attitude if you know what I mean.

Having bought the "This Is Not A CD" album download a few months back, Acht is still my favourite track. The 5 Minutes (which isn't part of that album) sounds a lot like a "free music" outfit I played with for a while in the late 1970s - to be honest I think that stuff is a lot more fun to play than to listen to. Recommend the download, though - good stuff aplenty.
