Fender Precision Neck

I have a Fender Precision neck that I have replaced with a new neck because it is slightly twisted! The serial number suggests it was made in Japan 1990/1991. Overall the neck is in good condition, though the tuners are not original. What to do with it? It would be a shame to just throw it away, would it be worth anything?

The neck is the one thing I look to be correct on a bass, I doubt a twisted neck is going to be worth much. If the twist isn't too bad then someone might want to have a go at repairing it, but I doubt they'll pay much for the privilege.

Sell the tuners separately :)

A luthier can tell you if it is repairable. They have all sorts of tricks for fixing this sort of thing. Get it straightened then you can sell it.[/quote]

I've had a quote from two luthiers and they reckon it would cost me between £175/£200 to have it defretted and levelled. I doubt it would be worth it?

in the meantime it can always be used as a comedy penis

just a suggestion

looks like there's already a fair bit of interest in this, but if these were to fall through a dude has a thread in the 'Items Wanted' section looking for necks to practice on
