There is a thread by me on here all about how to make some
Can't be that hard surely? Just find the sharpest edged metal known to man, cut it to shape, drill a hole in it and bend it to fit, and VOILA instant thumb-slicing fun! :)

I have fixed the pictures now http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=...=stingray+mutes
Musicman didnt used to be interested in this issue but as the Classic Rays are now available Im told the kit costs around £25 all in including springs,Pads and Thumb turns which isnt too bad IMO. My only point to note for some is that the thumb turns are not the same as the pre EB ones as they have a smaller diameter but certainly better than the none most pre EB's have and the chances of getting any originals is almost nil. What are they going on BW?

Thanks Pete,
Looks like a real tidy job you've done there,
£25 sounds a good price to me, they are for my 1993 Stingray that has a bridge to accomodate mutes but no mutes,
Had the bass for 15 years or so and have been thinking about getting some fitted for a long time,

I will be interested to hear how you get on as there is a lot of talk about where you can or cant get them but no one has ever come back with a solid answer or the actual mute kits.
I'll let you know if I manage to get the kit,
