Mick and I traded a Warwick for a Spector, and I was very happy with the exchange. We live some distance apart but were able to meet up because Mick kindly travelled in to London while I was there for the day. It was great to meet him, he's a true enthusiast and a really nice chap to deal with.

Got a message from Mick after i showed interest on a Mesa Mpulse 600 saying he had one and was happy to post. After many concerns from me on shipping issues i have he answered and re-assured me on every point. Put me totally at ease and arranged the courier with ful insurance thru P4D.

Amp arrived with enough packaging tape to secure a bank vault. EXceptionally well packed. He also included the service report from few weeks ago and all the leads required.

Amp was in great condition and i can confirm what everyone else has already said that he is an absolute Gent, very helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Highly recommended to anyone looking to buy from him.

Posted yesterday evening and arrived approx 11:30 this morning. Have to say pretty great service from P4D and Parcelforce.

Thanks again Mick

The Amp is first class and i'm loving that warm tone it has.

All the very best

Dave

As posts above show - Mick is definately one of the good guys on BC :i-m_so_happy:.  I posted a wanted thread for Trace Elliot cab logos this evening expecting absolutely zilch response, and blimey he PM's me straight away saying he has one and happy to send it as an Xmas prezzie for gratis.

Many thanks Mick!  Will return the favour if I can, and I refrain from making any pun on the classical phrase "Timeo Danaos et dona ferentes" (work it out...)

Now then, there appears to be something amiss. I scrolled through the lengthy list of eminent BC'ers who've had the pleasure of dealing with Mick to realise that in 8 years or so of his residency, the two of us had yet to deal in bass gear.....

Readers will be glad to hear that all has now been rectified, and I am now the happy owner (not for the first time you won'r be surprised to here) of a Mesa Powerhouse 15, the most glorious sounding (and heaviest) of all 15" cabs.

More importantly, the deal has left me with that warm, fuzzy, life-affirming glow that only the best gear deals can provide. First, Mick responded to a wanted ad with the actual item I wanted, i.e., not some random item that could pass for it in poor light as has often been the case ("I saw you're looking for a Wal fretless 4-string, I've got a lovely Wal fretted 6-string.......". Second - and this is pretty serious stuff - he offered it to me at a ludicrously low price, and then refused to accept my offer of what I though was a reasonable price, settling for a sum marginally above his first offer. We're talking seriously gentlemanly behaviour here. Third, he agreed to send the bloody thing by courier, and you need to have owned and/or lifted one of these things to understand what's involved; serious volumes of cardboard, bubble wrap, 'FRAGILE' tape (which kinda made me laugh because with Mesa's ability to over-engineer the f**k out of everything, this is about as fragile as Wimbledon FC in 1988, apologies to Liverpool fans), and the risk that the collection guy is going to punch you. Fourth, his comms put GCHQ to shame, I knew what was going on every step of the way via polite, friendly and accurate info. Fifth, he engaged me in discussion about huskies (long story) when I'm sure he had far better things to do.

Mick, thank you mate, it was an absolute pleasure to deal with you. If/when we catch up at a BassBash one day, the beers are on me mate

Cheers

Chris

Just a bit of feedback for quite frankly, one of the most fantastic guys in basschat land😁

A few may know that a fantastic Yamaha 424 came up on eBay a few weeks ago,That I just had to have. Well as it was collection only there was no way I could get hold of it as i dont drive!

Well this fantastic fellow offers to pick it up for me so I could arrange to have it courierd from him. He not only arranged pickup with the seller/ made an 80 mile round trip/helped me with organising the courier. He wrapped the bass very securely in a Yamaha  box thst he had and travelled to a post office so I could get it.

Ive been on basschat since 2007 and made friends with a lot of great guys (also dealt with some nutters too😂) and this guy is among the best of them. There wasn't anything in this for him, other than helping a brother out, we hadnt even conversed before.

A gigantic thankyou Mick I'm so grateful and the bass is currently my favourite 😁😚

Mick gallantly fought his way through the traffic nightmare that is Harlow to grab a box of old porno bass magazines that Mrs Pup was trying to throw away. They have now safely been rehomed in Hatfield i believe. Top bloke, recommended 😊

Mick sold me a cab in response to my wanted ad; he persevered through technological faff to get it sent nice and quickly, refunded a botched PayPal payment and has been a gent throughout. Top BCer, can't recommend highly enough.

Mick repayed a favour I did (ages ago) for him whereby he collected a bass from a ‘collect only’ seller near him and shipped to me.

couldn't have done a better job.

Lovely man. Thank you x

One of the true BC gents. 110% agree Andy.

I've been very slow on this, sorry Mick.

But if you ever get an invite to visit, grab it. Like walking into a timewarp bass store full of rare and unusual gems.
Had a good try-out on the GK110 combo which is very impressive, but also a Spectorcore fretless (much praised by many) and a large handful of rare custom basses... all in a room stacked with Trace, Quilter and loads more besides.

Top man, gatherer of some amazing bass gear, above all a Trace fan (Bass Collection too). Many thanks for the invite, your time and a grand day out.👍
