Not strictly a precision because I’ve fitted my favourite old jazz bass neck to a 22 year old P body, which is aging nicely, I put Tonerider TRP1 pickups in yesterday with a kiogon loom with a 0.1uF cap , and with the labella LTFs , it sounds amazing.  I just need 2 flat top chrome knobs and a threaded bridge saddle and it’s done, I can’t put it down 🙂

I am massively favouring my P’s at the moment that is until the next build!

Looks great and a great combo - you could leave it no knobs?!

Thanks very much Cuzzie ☝️, it plays really nice, I actually don’t mind it with no knobs

Pic player?

Tort too!!!   🙂

Yep, pick and flats. Had to witch to playing with a pick after an accident left me unable to use my right hand fingers properly. Pick and flats give a really authentic 60s sound, especially with a Jazz bass (which was still in its gig bag as the guitarist loves my Precision!).

Two just finished a few weeks ago and painted and fettled by the brilliant David Wilson. Both sublime, both different and both keepers despite the amount of P basses I have 💙

Status neck stealth is a beauty but the Lake Placid Blue is epic 😍

Many P's have come and gone, mex, jap, USA...... But my modded Matt freeman bass will never go, oi love it 😘. The neck profile on these are spot on.

gotoh Bridge and tuners, kiorgan loom and pots and a vintage tonerider pup. I've Lightly sanded the neck to a satin feel, engraved stained wood scratch gaurd, a cheeky f neck plate and 70s logo.100%the best p I've had in my arsenal, thumps and plays like a dream. This is my recently acquired CIJ '57 reissue with mods. Firstly the pickups are new US Fender vintage and a KiOgon loom. The scratch plate is a 62 reissue Fender and strung with TI flats.

The bass came to me in not too great shape. Terrible setup and input jack knackered. Underneath the pick guard the pickup cavity has been hacked to I can only presume take a different pickup. Needless to say I paid a 'suitable' price for the bass. So I replaced the electrics and the white single ply guard with the tort one pictured here which IMO looks 100% better. The Ashtrays and tug bar are borrowed from my '77 Precision. The body colour is either a very off white or a pale yellow colour, the (crappy) pics don't really capture this but it really dose look wonderful in the flesh.

Another recent(ish) purchase from here is my '95 US Precision. Just a fabulous bass, love it. I replaced the factory white scratch plate with a red tort one bought off ebay. Its a  cheap as chips one from China which fits perfectly and looks pretty darn good to me. The body colour is a gorgeous off white, the rosewood board is lovely and dark making this my prefect Pbass colour combination.
