I've been trying to sell this bass for ages, for an absolute pittance. I'm not giving it away as it's too nice, so I'm keeping it... everyone else's loss is my gain!
So in the last 20 minutes I've swapped the neck and the bridge - it's now an absolute peach. I'll let it settle overnight and give the setup a final tweak in the morning, but it's already almost perfect (apart from the pickup alignment). 🙂
Spec is:-
Unknown (but very light) body.
Kmise neck with extra fret overhang.
Genuine Fender tuners.
Kent Armstrong pickup with good quality solderless loom.
Wilkinson bridge with brass saddles.

Nothing fancy here. My main gigging bass - a '97 USA totally stock with EB Cobalts on. Found it with its original chainsaw case and candy. The original owner got it from Gak in Brighton in '98 (it's stamped late '97) and played in pub bands but it was (and is) virtually unmarked.
I have another 90s USA (a Jazz) and I find the finish of that period very tough indeed - i have banged this P once but the paint is like an armour coat.
2nd pic is the GB corner - messy but homely. The 900/Uber is the gigging rig, the combo for home and smaller stuff.

So this P is what I call my workingman's bass - no frills, does the job and occupies that space between kick and guitars REALLY well - that's my space so eff off :)

This is my favourite of your basses cuzzie 🙂

Cheers fella - I wish I could claim ‘making’ it, but a Status neck is what elevated what would be a normal bass - they really are things of joy both in feel and sonically - it goes from pleasant music to straight up extra bite with distortion in a blink of an eye.

Myself and a few other Tyneside-based BC'ers did this recently... More here.

Don't often see that many Ps all together, not even in a shop. Well, maybe Bass Gallery in the old days.
i'll take the LPB 5 back on the left please.
Seriously, if I ever find an older LPB Precision I'll be on it like a...

And an Acoustic wall along the back. My oh my.

If you've ever wondered what a Zebrano P looks like, wonder no more, just built this with a Jazz neck, Duncan Designed pup and one of Johns finest looms, oiled finish only to keep it feeling organic. Fancying a better pup though.

I have a ‘modern’ looking bass that has this same type of wood from a company called ‘Pairadice’

Well as I can never leave anything alone and was looking to upgrade the pickup on the Zebrano P I went a bit overboard and got a Duncan 1/4lb and a rather fetching Wenge Warmoth neck, something in me thinks this is a bit of a keeper now. Tuners and a new bridge will be next on the hit list!

My similar looking Zebra Wood, though obviously not a P style bass by any means
