Moollon Classic P in faded sonic blue with a mint guard... currently filling the P bass hole in my life with aplomb.

Some lovely details, I'm particularly fond of the clay dots.

OK first up is my 70s range;

from left to right; first up my mainly 70s bitsa Bass, then my 1978 all original Precision and then my 1979 Precision. I stripped the left & right ones myself

Next up we have

my 2009 MIJ 51 RI Precision. It's a crime I don't play this one more but I can't bring myself to sell this.

Then it's my original

This is a 57RI MIJ from 1989 that I switched the neck to a 1993 62RI. It's a bit trigger's broom again here as I've also changed the scratchplate and the pickup too.

Yup :) :P

Fair comment :) :D :lol: :D :D :D :gas:

Ok, here's a clue. My favourite bass player did something to his basses in the late 70's to mid 80's. This will end up being a tribute model in that spec. Kinda... a work in progress if you will! Rumour has it, the instrument in question is nearly ready!

In other news, I've been editing my Matsumoku made Aria Pro II '76 Precision bass too and will be reposting some pictures of that. It's so close to a 'real' precision that all of the Fender parts I've bought to upgrade it with are an exact fit. Even the pickguard!!! Ash & Maple for the win.
[/quote]

Does it include a natural finish and a bunch of blue picks (tortex?) rammed down the side of the pickguard by any chance?

My 62 RI from Fender Japan. Nitro finished.

Is this a refinish then as the VSP's were poly finished. Either way, it's a beauty, congratulations!

Don't know what it is but it has an allparts neck, a mexican P-pickup, unknown lightweight body with carpaint on it and anonymous hardware. Neck is really great so maybe I will try to find a good body and a different pickup and see what that brings.

Recent convert to P-basses. This one started life as a 1998-1999 MIM fretless, replaced the fretless neck with an all maple one from a 2010-2011 MIM Fender. Pickup is an SD 1/4-pounder, scratchplate and bridge are no names off of eBay and I even changed all the screws to black to complete the look. Body is a little battered, but neck is perfect. Monster sound and I've not played any of my other basses since this one was done.
