I just got a 1977 Precision, Don. Vintage white, which after 34 means yellow. 10lbs in weight, plays and sounds fantastic. There some definate mojo about the older ones. Only problem is, they cost an arm & a leg!

You should! Inspired by this thread, I took my old Precision to a rehearsal last night for the first time in ages. I usually take the Stingray or Shuker. To be honest, I'd forgotten just how good a passive P sounds in the mix. I was smiling all the way home :)

Yes I saw that bass! and it might of been what kicked off my lust to try find something just like it. So I can blame you lol.
Hopefully something will turn up here at some point where the seller is willing to ship.

Here´s a picture of my Squier JV Precision. According to the serialnumber it seems to be an 83 model. The last owner added a DIYed active electronic with funky bass and treble pots. They interact in a weird way. When I took it apart I found out that the circuit had a flaw. After fixing it sounds pretty good. Usually I´m not a fan of active basses but in this case I´m absolutely fine with it.

Had a day off today, so decided to take some pics of some of my basses that i havent previously had time to take apart and photograph, can think of nothing better to do, its a rare treat to have time to tinker with my toys!

My '56 (It's actually a 1/57 bass, neck and body both dated 1/57, but i call it a '56 when talking about it, so people know its the single coil version, anyway, here's a couple of pics, body is crazed to hell!!! Very cool, fell in love with it all over again today!!

Here is my 1983 Squier JV 62P
I bought it brand new in 1983 for £129
It has been my only bass in all that time!!!!
I doubt I will ever part with it.
It is 100% original and even came with the 4ply (yes FOUR ply) tort plate and the Vintage threaded saddles. ;-) - take that CV fakers :)

Wow! That's a great looking bass and pretty cool this is your only bass ever (Twigmans' Squire that is, apparently I don't know how to quote...hah)

It's not my only bass ever, just my only bass since 1983...I had a Kay (I think it was) 2 tone sunburst '57esque precision ( cost about £30 brand new in 80/81) before it with a neck that weighed about 10lb which was about 3" thick - that was an effort just to pick up, let alone play a set with - and it was impossible to set up - it had major issues.

This is my 75' P-Bass (100% original apart from the ash trays). Still don't have her yet but recently found out she has made it through customs so all is well. Should get her next week. Can't wait!

She was an olympic white but has faded to a funky yellow colour - loves it!
