Black basses

Thanks. I really, really like it. I wanted to get the Lo-Z pickups and 2 band pre so was specifically hunting for the LE. I much prefer them to the AFR and vari-mid setup which came shortly after. It's almost Warwick-like in tone, has a lot of the same growl with a slightly bigger low end and slightly tamed high end. It's still a slim neck but it's much more substantial than the mid 90's wenge necked SR I used to have, quite round at the back and very comfortable. Overall it's really light too. I'm quite chuffed.

Its a Maruszczyk Jake with a couple of custom options, namely the black hardware, reversed headstock and black painted neck. It's a beauty isn't it?

I picked up a Lakland 55-02 not too long ago and have been putting it through its paces recently with a few bands. It looks like it's a keeper (until I find 3k to buy a Fender CS Pino) 😄. I was never a fan of black basses but there is something timeless about black and maple.

Not sure if this is black enough to qualify....My recently acquired Sandberg California Mk2 TT passive.

It's got black Sadowsky knobs on now too if that helps.

Just discovered this thread and gone thru the lot - some truly amazing stuff! I've been looking for a replacement in the black bass department since my SG Reissue went a while back and here it is - an Ibanez Talman TMB30 short-scale.
