I want a Combo

You'd probably struggle to find a combo loud enough for pubs with no PA support.

The only thing I could think of that would be capable would be a 4x10" combo or similar.

There is a fantastic combo on here at the moment - a Trace V-type 15" with valve preamp. Fantastic combo but even it needed an extension cab to play pubs.

When I had my Trace 7210H 2x10" combo, I still had to use a 1048H 4x10" for pub gigs.

What pubs are you playing??
I used my m6 carbine combo at an open air gig with no pa support.
It is 600 watts on it's own and sounds awesome.
Is it me or are there never any decent combos for sale on here! Just Rigs and cabs. I've got a rig. What i need is a decent combo for playing pubs with just backline and vocal PA. Can't be arsed carting my rig about!
So when DO you use your rig? I would have thought that a pub gig without PA support is one of the most demanding jobs that backline amplification is asked to perform; surely for bigger gigs, you'd have a proper PA, so backline would be just for stage monitoring. Or am I missing something?

You're disregarding the "Can't be arsed carting my rig about" bit. At the volume we will play at when just using vocal PA. With nowt being miked up. I would like a combo that would do that job. Done it in the past, worked fine.
I was also saying you never see them on here!

I have scattered around various places the following..

Ashdown MAG300/15
Line 6 LD300
Ashdown EB180/15

But I think a combo is more of a hassle than a small head and a 1x15 or 4x10 or whatever because you've got the worst of both worlds in terms of size and weight.. There are plenty of chunky combos out there.. Carvin 600, Ashdown 575/4x10 - there even was an Ashdown 8x10 combo....

Cheers

You just need to look harder…

They will do the job perfect. There are also a hell of a lot of 300w combo's up at the mo (Trace & Ashdown) and in most cases I honestly beleive thats enough power to fill move venues unless you are playing big 2000 capacity clubs.
I'll chuck the Markbass combos into the mix.
I've never had any trouble being heard, usually the opposite.
Another vote for Markbass. I bought a CMD121H on here. I can carry it with one hand, it's never not been loud enough and it solved several problems I've had with other amps, for instance, it sounds just as good at low volume as it does loud.

as i'm a lazy bastard too & couldn't be arsed to cart my SVT rig around, but the Roly was so damn good & actually louder than the SVT (it sounds better too) that i sold the big heavy sodding wardrobe thingy-er i mean ampeg & just use this for every thing.
