£60 for a neck made to your spec with a decent looking logo. Not bad.
-
I would do this in a heartbeat but up in Sunny (today anyway) Scotland. Best of luck finding someone!

Badass bridges?

Specs say Omega...so yes basically BassAss Bridges. -

Not very clever from the Cort UK website. Showing a glimpse of the new models on the banner then only showing the old models below. Saying that, the new ones look great.
EDIT: Cort US site shows them all, very nice. http://www.cortguitars.com/en/product/series_view.asp?qCate=00003&idx=128 -
Just saw this, http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2017/05/23/phil-jones-bass-announces-the-bass-pulse-one-and-cab-47/
Head: 350 Watts @ 8 ohm, 5 band EQ
Cab: 4x7" and 2" Tweeter and 17KG
Look very good and dangerously affordable, especially the Cab at $500 so will no doubt be a touch less when it lands.
Definitely interested. -

Happy days! Didn't realise these were routed so cleanly (i.e. not a big old chunk out the body) so you can remove the scratchplate. If I wasn't tempted before I am now.....
-
Oh I completely get that, I was meaning that it would give you the best opportunity to try the brands you're keen on in one fell swoop
-
I have no helpful knowledge but I see you're in Scotland. If you're near Glasgow, GuitarGuitar have a large acoustic store which might help you out.
All the best in your search! -
I've just sent him a question to ask
Will let you know the result if it interests you. -
TBF it does come with D'addario Chromes which are ~£30+
He also says he has removed the top layer of varnish, can't see it in the photos but they could be poor photos. -
I've still got my Squier Musicmaster that was my first bass when I was 10 (I think) so that's been around 15 years
-
Might not be the neatest routing job but adding another pickup to this is a great idea, and if it stays at this price then it's a bargain!

I've got one, for slapping/tapping I have noticed you get less noise from the other strings so I think it works on that front.
You can slide it as far up the neck as it will fit but most people seem to use them just at the 1st fret to stop unwanted noise. As has been said, this is NOT for that old school muted thump.
Heres the eBay ad for those wanting a closer look: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/iBassline-Bass-Mute-/262966824578?hash=item3d3a0b4e82:g:fKYAAOSwnDxUidw- -

Hi all,
Firstly not my for sale post! Admins feel free to delete/move to appropriate place
Not sure if Facebook sale ads are ok but thought this might be of interest to those here as a portable upright for £450 seems reasonable.

If you can't see the advert directly I've added a photo so you can search for yourself -
What is it about the £1500 price tag that puts you off? Genuinely curious since it's a USA built bass with high quality parts.

A couple of months ago I managed to get a Yamaha SBV500, one of the basses "I wish I hadn't sold" X years ago.
And it's not the same.
Since selling the SBV I've fallen out of love with bass playing a bit and am slowly getting back into it now. I thought having one of favourite basses back would really get me going and inspire me to play and practice like I used to, I am playing more but not playing this bass more.
Maybe because I now use a G&L which has a chunkier neck and traditional bodyshape compared to the Yammy. Maybe it's because the Yammy has an EMG preamp while my old one was stock. Maybe my tastes have just changed in the past 8/9 years...
Anyway, anyone else got stories of getting "that" bass back and it not working? Or conversely getting "that" bass back and it being exactly like you remember it? -
Now available in 5 string too....

As with every combo thread see Fender Rumble or TC electronic range of combos.
Very highly regarded and very good prices used.
See this threads also: http://basschat.co.uk/topic/240948-the-best-combo-for-under-l1000/page__st__60__p__3252980__hl__combo%20under__fromsearch__1#entry3252980
I'm sure others will be along soon with more recommendations! -
Hi there,
Not sure if this is what you're looking for....but it does both. Has a Pin that can be used upright but also happily plays sideways/normal bass guitar.

Not sure how often they come up but maybe worth looking out for? -
Just to buck the current trend of dates....1991, anybody think of a particularly special bass from that era?
-
Seems Peter Hook already has his! Can't be far off now. Picture from @BassPlayerMag Instagram

Coming on strong...not sure whether to go with black, white or gold strings....

I stumbled across these a while back, at £25 it's not breaking the bank (compared to other coated/coloured strings) for trying our colour combinations

Aurora used to do the coating for DR before DR started doing it in house so they are good quality
Andy, I know it's not easy, but you make it look very easy!! -
Just had a play about with it. It is very good and gives you nearly all the options you could think of! And most helpfully for Adrian, a price! so We don't have to pester him all the time.
Only thing I've found it doesn't do so far is let you put split-coil at the bridge position. This is a very niche issue though.
Well done to all involved in programming the configurator though!
I have PJ Mustang - Which Fender Short Scale will compliment it?

Keep your eyes peeled for the Squier Musicmasters. They have the 50's style single coil P pickups and are pretty well made to boot.
I have one (my first bass) and it does the old school sound brilliantly!
