  1. Got a Squier Bullet from '87 to restore. A good clean, new strings, setup... Can't wait to start on it.

@Marc S I had mine from '88 - '90, but got the chance to play it again very briefly and unplugged, a few years ago. I was impressed enough to think about trying to get it back (it now belongs to a local school).

I had exactly the same bass in '88 and may have a way of getting it back, so I'd be interested to know how you find it and how it compares to a P (which is essentially what it is.).

  3. Two-saddle P Bass bridges! I'm done with 'em! They look 'authentic' but really the action and intonation adjustments are always a compromise. You can see why Leo went for the four-saddle job in 1957! Fitted a Fender Am Deluxe four-saddle variant instead and it's a different bass entirely. Peace out!!

I have a two saddle bridge on a Tele bass and have never had a problem with intonation. Sometimes minor compromise is needed, but that's true of many basses (try getting the 19th fret on the E string accurately intonated!). It's possible to angle the saddles slightly to help if needed.
