  1. Hi Does anyone have a copy of this book they'd like to sell on? If you have, PM me please. Paul
  2. Didn't he write a book on Mark King's slap style at the tail end of the 80s? I think i have that somewhere.....gathering dust.
  3. Check out his line to KNOWING ME KNOWING YOU - that's a seriously creative piece of bass playing - almost like a Pino type line several years before Pino came on the scene. Very very creative player - very underrated.
  4. Some good classical stuff to sight read are Trombone books -because trombone is written in the same clef. If you know any trombonists try asking them if they have Vol1 of Rochut's 'Melodious Etudes For Trombone' for you to borrow. These are great exercises to sight read - they are based on vocal exercises designed for opera in the 1800s, and so they are a lot more melodic than the more run of the mill bass stuff. Plus there's some odd time signature stuff too. (there's also Volume 2 and 3 - which get progressively harder).
  5. Hey Today I've been transcribing teh basslines to IT MUST BE LOVE by Madness and MOONDANCE by Van Morrison for some of my beginner students. Tomorrow I'm making a start on Mutiny by Junior Walker - with a Jamerson bass solo. That's gonna be....interesting!http://basschat.co.uk/style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif
