1. The drummer and you are driving the band so best to get your groove sorted and don't worry about the odd mistake too much. Most of all enjoy it so it shows, pretty sure you will after the first few bars, anyways - Good Luck
2. A neck should have a slightly visible bow to allow the action to be set low - post a photo from the headstock down if you can ...
3. I had a similar problem on a desktop (this one went loud and quiet) ... I found the onboard sound to be at fault - get a USB interface and improve the sound quality ,beat latency and fix your problem in one. Something like this would do fine.
4. ''Supports the current range of Line 6 FBV footcontrollers including Line 6 FBV Express and FBV Shortboard.'' Can you confirm this - there should be an 'FBV pedal' socket (not just pedal)... If so, I'm very interested.
5. Another sinistral here an' I'm very much lusting after this Sterling... I'm all over it If that lottery ticket comes good this week!
6.
Try an extra long Hercules,BUT they are fragile,Ive never had one I didnt break, they dont like heavy useage. BEWARE OF PLASTIC PARTS!!!
I'll beg to differ... My Hercules works great with my Jazz on it - been regularly gigged and adjusted many timesfor guitar use,etc Ideal for the Dean imho
7. I am assuming your recording software supports VST's -If not, try Reaper for an unlimited demo of the best value DAW around, imho. You could record the dry signal with effects VST's added to the recording track... You'll be able to monitor your playing with any number of effects and amp sims while still getting a dry track to use in any way you want ( maybe you fancy a different amp sound/overdrive etc) - all you gotta do is swap the VST's on the recorded track Free guitar based VST's are all over the net at the moment, SimulAnalog, Juicy 77 and Aradaz being definitely well worth a tryout
8. Try the Addictive Drums demo - doesn't time out and easy enough to use ( only one kit to play with but it'll get drums onto your song for free)
Thanks for that chaps. Suspected I was missing the obvious, I am indeed using XP. OldG how do I sort the compatibility mode? Would like to try that first, before looking at reaper. All the best.
Go to start> all programs>accessories>program compatibility wizard and take it from there... never used it myself, but seems like it could be the fix you need. Good luck fella

XP has a compatibility mode that may work for you... If not, Reaper is a fantastic alternative and will run on most systems
11. bump for this - from a lefty Tokai Jazz player, I've had mine near 20 years now and reckon it'll always be my main bass.
12. Reaper is just fantastic value.... works on nearly any computer and really intuative with VST/DX and midi support. Best you'll get for $40 (it'll still run if you don't register)
13. Started playing bass at 25, and never felt 'good' enough to play in a band ( I even put the bass away and started playing guitar) - until this year, a good friend/singer made me go along and play bass with what turned out to be 'the band'. I'm 44 now btw, and dearly wish I hadn't wasted all those years.... playing live is a superb rush! Unfortunately, the band split and now my wife Lucy(guitar), Tracey (the aforementioned singer/gutarist) and myself (bass/guitar) play a nice mellow acoustic-ish set without the usual band ego/commitment hassles. Its all good - just play with others, I found it hard to keep interest without...
14. I've had my H2 for a few days now... It's a fantastic piece of kit! Again,I haven't had the chance use it to record a full band with drums, although I can say that I was amazed at the quality when recording in the middle of a roomful of acoustic players/singers with the Zoom set to 4ch recording. I have a small acoustic type gig coming up midweek, although I think I'll plug it straight into the desk to get the set recorded. I should mention that it makes a great vocal mic and can be used as an usb audio interface too. I will see how it gets on with recording some bass/guitar/vocals into Acid 6 on my PC today....
15. Left handed, playing lefty basses... masturbation with fretting hand, naturally

20. At the moment I am looking for a backline amp to keep up with our hard hitting drummer. I came across a Stinger setup (STP300HB head and STP410EB cab) at a very good price, but know nothing about them... Anyone have experience/opinions? I was lucky enough to have the temporary use of a Hartke 3500 and TP410 which had enough power, with thump and growl that suited my Tokai Jazz nicely, but this rig comes in a lot cheaper and seems fine... I really don't want to buy problems though, feedback needed please Cheers Mick Edit: links added to manufacturers site - Made by Proel
