1.
My current board... It'll change within a week or so, I have no doubt about that. I no how you feel, drive myself mad fiddling with the board all the time, swapping them about, settings etc that by the time you have got it set somthing like get that "board" (pun intended ) that a dry lead seems to be the way forward, then a chorus pedal sneeks its way back in an before you no it back ware you started, cable ties an velcro everyware, its all good fun , if it wasnt then there wouldnt be a point!!

5. Yeah i picked mine up pretty cheap (with out trying it first) an more than happy with it, the construction of it doesnt seem to sturdy but for the sound i get from it , full marks.

Distortion?
ODB-3 with some tweaking on the settings
Totaly agree, there reasonably cheep to pic up , bomb proof construction, an can use it as a booster al the way through the spectrum to heavy gain. recomend
8. the dunlop ones i mentioned work the same as the bottle washer (twist it on an twist it off) (just a posh version of washer i guess) have a look for em next time you in a music shop, most places stock them ive got a couple kicking about somware just not needed them since got planetwaves strap
9.
Danny - is that the standard guitar version or do they do a bass one, too? Looks like an elegant solution, I must say.
Not to sure if there is a thicker version but can imagen that there is, i got given this strap a few years ago an it suits me perfect, but be worth having a look on a planetwaves site for alternatives.
I don't claim to be an expert here, but I recall somebody here had a Comfort Strapp of some sort break-it had a plastic buckle that snapped. I have a feeling it wasn't one of the 'proper' Comfort Strapps, but one made by somebody else. Personally I hate the look of them, with those bare neoprene pads. I won't use a strap with any kind of buckle, especially plastic-I prefer the all-leather ones. I've recently been converted to the Grolsch washer system-my Shuker JJ came with standard strap buttons, and having spent ages in recent years trying to keep Schaller straplock buttons from coming unscrewed, I decided to stick with the Grolsch washers-even when Jon Shuker offered to send me a set of Schallers for free! So far I've been very pleased. Our drummer found me a nice blue washer from a bottle of water the other day-wish I knew which brand of water, he only could only get me one (from a posh hotel). It's a bit less obtrusive than the red ones.
And with the bottle washer, "dunlop" do a simular kind of thing, like a twist&lock function an can get them from most music shops for less than £2 each , (fit over standard strap buttons etc).
10. Ive got a "planetwaves" strap that has straplocks on it, rubber on the back of it so it doesnt make a sound when fitted & fits over existing strap buttons, ive had it a couple of years now an its been great to me , fits my stingray nicely. sorry dont have a link to them but shouldnt be hard to find on google.
11. Last months "bass guitar magazine" (november issue) www.bassguitarmagazine.com had couple of pages about Sir Horace an the specials, an his sound, could be worth checking it out if you havent already seen it.
12.
I measured the hole in my straight post reverse Kluson and it goes down about 10mm, which works fine. If you've got a leccy drill you could drill the hole a bit deeper....
Thanx for that, ill take another look at it an let you no how it goes, Dan.

Boss SYB-5

Sold mine a few weeks ago, bit to extreem for me
14. As far as colour, in my oppinion the bongo will carry any colour off and ware it well, an a 4HH will take some beating , want one
15. i cable tie all mine down, works a treat
16.
TBH I don't think it looks bad because it's got a straight post, it would hardly stand out at all but for the fact that it's not chrome. Maybe there's somebody out there who'd want to swap a chrome for a black chrome D tuner.
I did originaly order a chrome but an black one turnd up an kind of like the look of it, just the disadvantage of the straight post is its slightly fiddlt changing strings, have to make sure that the string is pushed al the way to the bottom of the post in order to get a nice angle on it the back of the nut (its almost like its to long or the slot isnt deep enough), ive tryed swapping the posts over but but thay dont fit. (ant thank Mr Foxen for the offer)
17. have you seen the warwick "vampyre sn" or "vampyre dark loard" ? thay come set up tuned B-E-A-D an F#-B-E-A with stupidly heavy gauge strings, bit extreem but worth a look
18.
Boss TU-2 is industry standard for a reason
Definatly recomend
19. Recently fitted a hipshot D tuner to my stingray and am very pleased with it, to only problem (part of it that i dont like) is the post, its straight rather than tapered , ive tryed mixing an matching the parts from the original tuner but the fitting it to short, ive heard that tapered posts are avalible from hipshot but havent any luck finding one as yet. just asking if anybody else has found the same thing, and general coments/tips for them that others have found and just the general opinion of them very welcome, Dan.
20. Brought this off eBay for £15,(dont think there much more than that new), no-name brand but works a treat no his or hum, powers upto 10 9v pedals, the leads that come with it are boss style but variations are avalible (like the headphone style power found on old DODs etc)
21. Made mine from mdf an cable ties, realy not that difficult, for just a "board" an thats all it realy is you can custom make it it to exactly how you want it , drill a couple of holes eith side of the pedal an hold it down with a cable tie (holds it better than velcro an doesnt mark the pedal in anyway), cover the board in carpet tape (looks better than bare wood an helps with grip), looked at loads of boards like pedaltrain etc an cant justify the cost for what thay are, (the post above looks even easyer, no drilling needed) good luck an all the best Dan.

Chorus Pedal

Have to agree with above, there reasonably priced NEW! , sound great and built to last, an can get a wide range of chorus out of them, from very light to heavy 80s warbl
23. Ive heard of players using very heavy gauge strings to acheive drop C to the extreem of 135-65. One trick is to buy a set of 5 strings and use the top 4 to get them heavyer than heavy!! (providing we are talking about a 4 string), but as far as i no "warwick" do drop tune sets in rediculsly heavy gauges 175-85 !! but can imagen that there are other brands out there, not that ive seen them or been looking for them so ... as i said not my thing but thats one way that ive heard.
