  1. I'm on the side of digital here, i play in a fairly aggressive 3 man outfit and both the guitarist(vocalist as well) and myself want to have the boom of the backline behind us, however we use iem's as well, depending on the stage setup we use either or both. We currently have a rack where we house 2 kempers(both bass and guitar), an xr 18, a channel splitter and 3 iems(guitar, bass, drums), basically we each have our own mix, and you can very easily use your own backline, feed the di into the mixer and so on, ideally you would want a multicore cable from your mixer to the stage box, ours is fixed and we each know what cable is what, or alternatively you can tag them, makes things easier for a 4-5 piece band. We own our won amps, but we all pitched in(from band merch sales and individual finances when necessary) for the PA the mixer and other cableage and each of us bought their own IEM, guitarist and drummer have LD MEI100g2 and i have the MEI1000, anyway. as i mentioned, you can chose not to use an IEM, but everything is set up in the rack so that we literally just plug cables in and that's it, so setup takes minimally, even if we had to bring in cabs, but most places supply those and they're only used for monitoring. we also own our PA in our practice room but we don;t carry that around with us, again, that's for practicing and monitoring only. so just to sum it up, i am a big fan of simplifying and preparing everything before going on stage, so if you can fit all your monitoring equipment in a rack, do that, sort out the mixes beforehand, and you're set. In regards to the costs, i would say, if there is anything that you would want to keep in case you leave, buy for yourself, IEM system, amp, cab or anything else, otherwise, split the costs and if someone leaves everyone just pays them back for their part in it and that's it, or if they're not bothered and leave on good terms, then they just leave it and it's yours otherwise, yes it gets tedious, and at some point someone will probably end up owning a mixer or smth like that, but unless someone wants to buy it outright this is how things have been in the bands i've been in tbh. Oh yeah, and before being in this band and playing with iems and kemper, in my previous band, the drummer had his own mixer and iem and everything and he paid for it himself, but the amount of equipment he had to carry was enormous as he played with a rack and not the light kind. Hope this helps
  2. That's a recessed Dunlop Strap lock to change the position of the bass, and shift the weight if you need to. All Canadian models have this as a standard option i think @kuetsum GLWTS mate!
  3. Sold a Boss wireless unit to Colin, top guy, communication was smooth, payment was fast and on point and everything went smoothly, would definitely recommend for any future dealings anyone has with him. Alin
  4. Hi Kev, It is indeed a lovely thing, should i have longer digits or if i were playing something more proggy this would be perfect. Will add a value in the main ad, thanks for the tip.
  5. I have managed to find a 5 string Dingwall AB1 so this is going for sale only from trade only I've owned this bass for the past 3 or so years, it plays beautifully and has kinda ruined me for other basses tbh, however for the 2nd time in the last 10 years i have to concede that i don't need a 6 string bass, i am prone to noodling, but the genre of music i play does not really need 6 strings on bass, and as much as i would like to, i feel more comfortable on a 5 string. So without further ado, I am putting up for sale my beloved black 6 string Dingwall Afterburner 1. It has been played and has a few knocks and scratches which i will photograph and and send over on request. It is passive and full stock(as it came) As far as i can conclude, the body is Alder, neck is Maple and fretboard is Wenge, pickups i think are FDV's. The only thing of notice is the fact that the nut was filed for a .152 B string(or whatever other tuning was used) and i have used exclusively .130 Dingwall strings and tbh it has not been an issue at all, string has never slipped or moved or anything like that, however should you feel concerned i am sure you can get an AB nut from Bass Direct. Strings have been used but not excessively, I can include a new set with the trade, Also in regards to tuning, my lowest is G# and the definition and growl i had as well as good tension has always been top notch. Drop me a PM with sensible offers, this is a beautiful instrument that really shouldn't stay in a case "gathering dust"
  6. Since i moved to a complete rack option, i don't need the 2 heads anymore. The have both been great and have had them for a few years, during the pandemic and since they have had very little use. Basically i used the RH450 for practice and as a backup, and has never failed me in any way. It has 3 stickers on top that can be removed with some alcohol or with WD40 or something. What i did't know when i got it, was that the Gain switch was broken off, but fixed(it rotates and holds the knob) so all is good , still has most of the original knobs on, the master volume is a different one, looks good tbh and only the Mem1 button is cracked, but not fully(this is a common issue and does not affect playability). Otherwise it works fine and never had an issue with it. If you are interested in buying it separately i'll let this one go for £150, and will include the kettle lead and a bag to hold it(an old brown samsonite laptop shoulder bag). The RH750 has been sold I also have the RC4 footswitch, used but not overly, has the usual scuff but otherwise in good condition, can sell separately for £100 or with the RH450 as above offered. I would prefer collection or meetup in central London or South East London, Lewisham area(or if you live locally and have a cabinet we can go to yours and test it, i don't have a cab at home anymore) Will upload photos very soon. Should you have any questions, let me know All sold thank you
  7. Up for sale is my trusty Boss WL-60, has served me well for the few months I have used it, i got this to replace my Smoothhound, and it did an amazing job, very easy to use, very light as well, no dropouts or issues with signal, I'm only selling as i don't have a pedalboard anymore and am going full rack, I'm sure i will regret this in a little while but hey, it satisfies the GAS. Anyway, it was bought second hand, didn't come with a box, and as usual, no power source but it feeds off any power source or even a 9V battery(like all boss pedals). The transmitter uses 2xAA batteries and the drain is minimal, i had a few dozen gigs and only changed them once. All in all £160 ONO. I would prefer local meet in Central London or South East London(Lewisham-Greenwich) area but could post if need be, drop me a message and we can take it from there Cheerio
  8. Bought a bunch of Dingwall Strings from Mat, and everything went through smoothly, great guy to deal with so fully recommend. Cheers Mat!
  9. Had a great experience selling to Lee, he bought a DG Microtubes infinity pedal from me and it could not have gone smoother. Thoroughly recommend dealing with. Cheers Lee.
  10. I do, i got this one, when i got it, it was 60 quid though, still worth it tbh https://www.gak.co.uk/en/shergold-sggb1-masquerader-deluxe-guitar-gig-bag/905126
  11. Honestly if you manage to snag a deal and not pay full price for it, then it’s worth it, i managed to get my 1505ms new for 1k, via friends and family discount at a reputable store not to be named here :), anyway if i had paid more and not via the complicated system i probs would have returned it, action was high AF, the pot covers are just cheap plastic and the truss rod access looks like it was carved with a butter knife, also the pot holes are horrendous, one is a bit crooked, but easily fixed with another washer. I did make some changes to it, changed the balance pot to a dingwall 4 way(i don’t know why that isn’t standard in most basses nowadays), i bought some wooden pot covers from ali express, and it does not add bulk or weight and looks so much better, changed the straplock to dunlop, so i can use the same strap for this and the dinger and with a proper setup it sounds almost as food as my AB1, i play it in passive as that preamp is just way too complicated for me, it helps when you need a bit of a boost live, but otherwise, it stays pretty much in passive, the nordies sound really good, i like the bite, not as defined as the dinger but they sound good, way better than the chinese barts, you just need to add too many things in the signal chain to get those to sound good, and i don’t think it’s worth it. And for a premium guitar to offer that gig bag i find insulting, i managed to get a cheapo rbx copy gig bag for 60 quid and it offers great protection. That is all rant over, but if you have 1k and get one in good condition or new and with another 100 quid you can make it into a top bass with a decent bag.
  12. Hey All, So after 3 months of trying, genuinely trying to get a tone that suits my band and my playing style, i have come to the conclusion that it just isn't for me. I've been an HX stomp user for a few years now and tbh, that is more my style, so i think i'll stay on that or move to a complete rack powered option(kemper). Anyway, it is almost brand new, bought towards the end of March, used in the practice room for half hour, and a few more hours at home, comes with the box and everything from the box. It does not have a charger as it does not come with one, but it can be powered from a normal pedal power supply(i had it in an Ojai which delivers 500ma, but i am pretty sure it only needs around 250ma). Overall it is a very cool, slick and smart piece of technology that i genuinely wish i could get along with, but didn't. Please see below blurb and description, you can also find videos and presets online for it should you want and need. "Often, we find ourselves asking identical questions. What distinguishes a pedal, amp, or accessory as essential? If we get to choose only one piece of gear to take on tour: how would we want it to be? This pedal is a response to our one quest, stapling what it takes to make professional gear by our standards: A vast canvas on which any musician can reveal their utmost potential. Meant for those who care about quality, versatility, and a robust proposition. Without concessions or shortcuts. The Microtubes Infinity shares the footmark of our programmable line, packed with our three legendary Microtubes distortions: B3K, Vintage, and X. Moreover, it allows multiband compression on every mode, blending Impulse responses between distortions while adding extra controls via the Darkglass suite for an endless number of features: An infinity of possibilities. Not interested in other pedal trades, only if you have a Kemper power rack, obviously with money from me. Also i prefer meeting up in Central or South East London but i can look into posting it, at buyer's expense. Cheerio
  13. For a really long time this was my dream bass, having played one in my first studio recording experience, and it just blew my little alternative-rock-playing mind, it just sounded and felt so much better than any bass i had previously had and played, honestly at this price this is a steal, especially in this condition, if i had more space and wasn't hooked on fanned fret i would have bought this. GLWTS!!!
  14. Hello all, so I am selling my Mono Stealth Bass Bag, it has been used, but it is still in very good condition, a few scrapes, but nothing that will compromise the integrity of the bag, nor the aspect, the white marks are because of storage and can be easily wiped off, I rarely use it now as I prefer my Reunion Blues CV, also it's just taking up space and not being used so, yeah. It was initially bought from @dave_bass5about 3 years ago and probably used twice until the pandemic hit, and then only on occasion, until I got the RB, which has been my main big bag since, in the last year used mostly to store my previous LTD bass. I prefer collection or meeting up in London Lewisham, London Bridge or Farringdon-Hatton Garden area. Any questions, let me know.
  15. Thanks Michael, i was thinking of doing that, but one of the reasons why i don't want to go to a custom shaped case is because of the EHB that's coming soon, i wanted something that i can primarily use for the Dingwall but could also use should i need to take the EHB with me as well or instead. hope that makes sense. But thank you for that, very useful link and info.
  16. Hey guys, I need some advice from my fellow low end aficionados, and after I have searched on the forum, i haven't found topics related to anything on the lines of what i need, so here we go(context), I play a 6 string Dingwall AB1, i don't know how it relates to the Combustion and NG model necks, but i assume it's pretty similar, it's a wide neck, thin but wide, a few months ago i purchased one of those Tourtech Pro bass cases, which, for any bass up to 5 strings was good(my former 5 string F series LTD was well protected in it and sat very comfortably in it), however for the Dingwall, the groove in which the neck sat was too narrow and it didn't fit, kinda just stayed above it and was afraid it would break, so when i sold my LTD, I basically just sent the case with it as it was perfect for it, new owner said he loves it I also used to own a Hiscox Liteflite before the Dingwall and sold it with one of my previous basses as, at the time, it took up space and i never really used it, i'm more of a Gigbag person(have a Reunion Blues and a Mono), but circumstances currently push my needs towards a hardcase for a few gigs abroad, either to send via courier or to take with me as checked baggage, regardless, i need a decent case that won't weigh a ton but also protect my chonky necked "baby" enough. So i have a few questions for people who have owned/used 6 string Dingwalls in a hardcase: 1. Is the Dingwall Hiscox case that Bassdirect is selling just a normal Liteflite but engraved with the D on the side, so basically if i just get a normal Hiscox Liteflite there won;t be any issues in length? 2. What other hardshell cases have you tried that worked and didn't need any modifications to get the neck to fit, or the body to fit or whatever 3. Has anyone used the Ibanez MRB500C case and if so what are your thoughts on it? I like the fact that it has adjustable blocks for different shaped basses(obviously directed at the Ibanez line-up) and am curious if a Dingwall would fit in it, was thinking because it suits the BTB 6 and 7's it would work as the neck is somewhat similar 4. Has anyone used the Gator Bass GTSA case(led or not) for a 6 stringer either Dingwall 6er or even an Ibanez BTB 6 or more and what are your thoughts on that? 4. Has anyone used a gigbag(Mono or Reunion Blues Continental) to fly with a Dingwall bass and what did you do with it? Checked in baggage or on the plane? If you could describe any tricks or your experience overall i would be really appreciative. I am already in the process of getting a headless Ibanez, just in case i can't take my Dingwall with me in a safe way, and just take that on the plane with me but would much prefer my main axe to come with me for these gigs. Money isn't necessarily an issue, but i wouldn't spend more than about £200-£250 on it, i think it quite a sensible price for a case that i will no be using that often and i live in an apartment so space is a bit of an issue. I would really appreciate any opinion/help/experience you guys have had with extended range instruments on, let's call them DIY/mini, tours abroad. Thanks
  17. Oh, i've only put it as pending as i used it for some live stuff recently, wanted to put it back for sale this weekend :))) so it is very much still up for grabs tbh, drop me a PM and we can take it from there
  18. No worries, until i actually found this bass, i didn't really know who he was either, i knew of the band, but I always loved the F series LTD's ever since i saw DiGiorgio play a custom green one, and this was the closest i could get to that without going custom :)) it is an awesome bass, i just can't get used to the jumbo standard frets anymore and prefer either the banjo or standard frets.
  19. No worries, it’s Danny Kenny of Suicide Silence, never been big on Suicide Silence but this bass was just exactly what i wanted for a really long time before i got it, and a while after that as well
  20. Thanks dude, I wholeheartedly agree, should i not have gone multiscale i would have kept it. But this way someone else can enjoy it rather than gathering dust in my stand
  21. I’ve decided to change my wireless purely because i really liked the Boss so now my old Smoothhound wireless is up for grabs, i have used it for the last 4-5 years and never had an issue with it, it was on my pedalboard and as the original power source cable frayed, i got an inverter cable for it and plugged into my pedalboard PSU, so the inverter cable will come with it, the only other issue i had with it was the small bit of metal that breaks on the transmitter, where the latch, from what i saw online that’s pretty normal and SmoothHound will replace it for an extra 20 quid, but i just attached 2 zipties to it, as pictured, and it’s worked fine tbh, i will also include the neutrik female to female extender so you can use it as a bodypack on your strap, as well as a pretty cool multitool belt pouch, which i used on my strap, as well as a cable with direct female to male so you don’t necessarily use the Neutrik f2f converter. The receiver still has some sticky glue from the velcro patch, it can be removed with some alcohol or it just adds extra sticky adherence should you add another sticky Velcro for your pedalboard. Works with 2x 3A batteries, and will include a set of rechargeable ones, as the my new one only uses 2A’s. Anyway, £60 not negotiable, will post at buyers expense, but prefer local collection. Any other questions let me know, happy to answer if i can
