  1. thanks, it is a lovely looking bass - I have the full specs somewhere but need to find them first !! Quilted maple top I think...
  2. agreed on the gig bag, it's a great little bag and very well padded !
  3. Hi all Thinking about getting rid of my Dingwall, it's a lovely bass but it may be time for a change...I've attached a couple of pics from when I bought it, 4 years ago now I think and it looks the same now, still in really great condition. I changed the back pickup for a Dinwall P-tone for a warmer sound but still have the original which I'll include, along with the Dingwall gig bag and tools. If there's any interest I'll take more photos and put them up, along with the full spec - the bass is in north London, I wouldn't want to ship as it's only in a gig bag but could possibly deliver locally at cost. Thanks for looking ! Phil
  4. thanks for posting this up, I'm very tempted to head down from London for it !!

  9. Hi Angela, the N7 address is about 5 mins walk from a tube station, is this ok for you ? I don't have a card machine so it will have to be cash payment in full on pickup or transfer/PayPal in advance. Do you want to try it first ? Thanks, Phil
  10. Hi Angela It's in north London, I can have it in either N7 during the day, or N22 weekends & evening - are either of these ok for you to come and try it ? Regards, Phil

  13. have a look here: http://www.talkbass.com/threads/yamaha-eub-megathread.352752/page-16 and elsewhere on the megathread, there's load of good info there as well as videos etc...
  14. no need to disconnect the stock pickup as you use the jack socket on the FC, I've seen some people use them both and blend them...
  15. Hi Kedo No problem - I fitted the Full Circle as I wasn't impressed with the on board pickup and found it to be an improvement, quite a few other SLB owners have done the same although there was recently someone on here who tried it and thought the on board pick up was better, so I guess it depends what you're looking for sound-wise ! There should be some info and possibly sound clips if you do a search here or online, I think it gives a much more natural "acoustic" sound over the built in one. Thanks, Phil
  16. Many thanks, they are great instruments but I've gone the other way and just bought an acoustic upright, so this one has to go sadly...

  19. I didn't have a mirror so use the front camera on my ipad ! it works as I can see if the bow is straight or not... I've been learning arco for about a year now and it is getting gradually better but it will be a long road, as I knew it would be. It does require a lot of practice and I work full time and gig so don't have as much as I would like to dedicate to it, but a little every day is the way to go if you can, plus a good teacher of course. Choice of bow and rosin may make things easier as well ?
  20. +1 to Bob's comments above. Re the sound, choice of strings makes a big difference, plus a popular mod is to add a pickup, I went for the Fishman Full Circle on mine and much prefer the sound to the onboard pickup. You're welcome to come have a look/play of mine if you like, I'm in north London.
