All my straps are made by Heistercamp: black on the outside and lined with smooth leather on the inside that is a colour to match (or at least tone with) the relevant bass. As all the basses are different shapes I find this the easiest way to ensure the right strap goes on the right bass.
I appreciate this is a first world solution....

I'm selling my Providence Bass Boot Comp. It's had very little use, as I tended to use the compressors in my Boss MS-3 once I bought that unit, so is in excellent condition. A nice and simple compressor.
It's in excellent condition and is in perfect working order and comes with original box. Price is posted in the UK.

Surely it should say "an abomination"?

I don't need it, but I keep coming back and looking.....
Quite a few in stock it seems: GuitarGuitar, Stompbox, Gear4Music etc.

I'm assuming this is an MS-3 on steroids? If so I would highly recommend it!

If it has to be Mono, and there are many cheaper alternatives that will do the job just fine (e.g. Gator and TGI), I would pass on the Sleeve as it's definitely no good for basses with angled headstocks, pus the padding is minimal on the sides, and the M80s as they are bulky. Personally, I loved the convenience of the Vertigo.

I forgot to mention the superb semi-rigid Sire gig bag that was included with my bass.

franzbassist did well to get a lighter one at I guess around 4.3kg before changing the tuners.
I was lucky as Andertons had just taken delivery of a new shipment, so they brought out five different ones for me to try. Two were absolute boat anchors, I'd guess 10.5-11lbs, but the rest were very reasonable.

My P8 five is a superb instrument. It's strung with La Bella through-body flats and is an absolute tone machine. If you want a P shaped 5 string I would say it's the best option out there are the moment.
I've swapped out the tuners for Gotoh Res-O-Lites, which makes the bass bang on 9 lbs. Also fitted Dunlop straplocks and filed the edges of the nut to take off the sharp corners, but other than that it's stock. Tempted to swap the scratchplate to tort though...

Sold a synth pedal to Patrick. Super smooth transaction.

Oof how nice is that! These basses are so light and well balanced it's crazy.
-
Can it do a Muse kind of thing?
-
At about 1.14 in, what effect is this? Octaver and fuzz, or synth bass perhaps?
I have found out that bassist Hagar Ben Ari uses:
Boss OC-2 Octave
Electro-Harmonix Micro Q-Tron envelope filter
Electro-Harmonix Bass Micro Synth
MXR La Machine CSP203 fuzz
Red Witch Zeus Bass Fuzz Suboctave
Eventide Space Reverb
So I assume it's a combination of one or more of these.
Any ideas?

The Embassy had a wall of Wals... But that was a long time ago...
I remember that!

There is currently a four year wait on a new Wal, so the market for new basses can't be too bad. In fact, they aren't even taking orders at the moment.
I'm just looking at the Gallery website now and the three single pickup fretless basses are all from the "budget" (i.e. semi production line) run that Wal did. They aren't even active, so £7-8k for one of those seems truly exorbitant to me.
I guess they are hoping people will buy a bass that was made while Wal and Pete were still alive.

I used one of these as my main bass for a number of years. Truly superb instruments.

Are Picato still going? Has anyone used their rounds recently?
No, they went out of business quite a while back now. You can still find some NOS around. They are decent strings (were standard install on Wals for many years).

I don't frequent BC as much as I used to, but there are lots of people on here I have a lot of time for, both as people and their opinions.

I haven't had this long, just since last summer, and it's hardly been used in that time. I realised after I bought it I need their micro, not mono, synth!
So, a mint condition pedal is available, with original PSU and box, for a decent saving on the new price of £139. Postage is £5.

I have a Sire P8 five string and honestly I'm amazed at what can be produced at this price point. These are really good basses!

I've never bought from Peach but have emailed and called a few times with queries about stock: top notch responses each time.

Brian has those, listed in his "Pickguards for various bass models" section.
Awesome stuff, thank you!
EDIT: He has the passive, two knob, version listed. I've messaged him to see if he has or can make the active five knob for me.
EDIT 2: Spoken to Brian. Am going to send my original to him to copy. All is good.

Compact, square"ish" pedalboard recommendations

I'm looking for a square board, about 30cm wide and deep. Anything out here that fits the bill?
