    It is with great sadness that I write this post, but my beloved Shaun died of a heart attack at the end of July, he was only 64. He loved being a member of Basschat and had forged some good friendships with fellow bass players. He will be sadly missed and I miss hearing him play bass from him room. Thank you for the years of joy you gave him. Louise (his wife)

      @SpondonBassedyes we did. Turned out the lump was just one of several tumours.

    There's a first. We walked away from a gig without playing a note as the pub thought we had too many amps (we are a 5 piece) and our amps looked "too loud". We hadn't even plugged in or fully set up. When they asked us to lose a band member or play after 10pm when their restaurant was closed, we packed our gear and left. Lord Raglan in Wokingham, for the record. My advice: never accept a gig there

      I've got to go to Italy again next year, for my stepson's wedding... got to say I am really really tempted to drive, via the ferry. I know it's a hell of a long way, but I think it'd be nice. Spread it over three days or so, take a leisurely route maybe. A whole load better than flying, that's for certain.

      Apparently it's a bit better than it was there, still big queues and so on. At the start of the month when I was supposed to fly home with them via Schipohol, the situation at Schip was so bad that they cancelled the flight from Bologna just as we were about to board, and then basically abandoned us there. No food, no accommodation, nothing. Told us to call their customer service line (which was shut) and make our own way home (which we did). The next morning, when we'd already got as far as Paris, I had an email from them offering us 'alternative' flights home from Bologna departing three days later.

      And now, to put the tin lid on it, they are refusing us any compensation for our extra expense in getting home. 

      So my comment is mainly borne out of total dissatisfaction and anger with KLM's laughable service.

      Aww @Doodman, this is making me jealous. I'd love a "Sally's little sister" of my own... maybe a 32" headless 5 string, with the same type of pickups and guts as Mark's Zoot Wal-alike...
