Experimental ramp fitted to the Spector. A piece of scrap laminate floor cut to size and sprayed with about a dozen coats of rattle can black and lacquer, and then carpet-taped in place. I'll see how it goes.

I've noticed my left ear was a bit muffled of late, so all this week I've been popping a few drops of Otex in each evening in an attempt to soften it all up... last evening I gave it a good flush out with some hot water, and now not only can I hear in glorious stereo again, but I've got the makings of a good sized candle.

I never realised how useful fret markers on the side of the neck were until I played a bass without them. Shortscale too. I sound like Les Dawson playing the piano.

I have a gig tomorrow. One of the songs we're playing is I Can't Make You Love Me. Question is: do I bring a fretless just for that 1 song (out of over 20)?

Wee bit of fret buzz on the Spector earlier. A tiny nth of a turn on the truss road and it's buzzless & singing like a canary again. God I love this bass.

Happy New Year one and all. I have a question. Does anyone still use their Boss ME50B? Even after a factory reset does it go stupid loud in 'memory mode'? Is it a common fail of this iconic unit and besides upgrading is there a remedy that won't break the bank of Dave P-Bass ? long or short, your answer answers are very welcome.

Spotted a really handsome P copy on my local Farcebook marketplace... nice purple finish with only a couple of minor dings, maple neck, on close viewing the action looked pretty low which was a good sign, and very cheap too... so I thought I'd get it as a possible base for modding... send a message... I missed it by 10 minutes apparently 😭
