But Roger Sadowsky's USP is that his basses are essentially sup'ed-up Fenders. He's said as much in interviews.

There's nothing wrong with Fender copies if that's what you want (I don't). But I aways wonder just how many versions of basically the same thing with slight variations the market can stand and how you decide on one luthier's Fender copy over another.

This thread is about uk builders, I was highlighting one I’ve seen that looks interesting, that is all.

Looks like more Fender copies to me....

I suppose the same could be said for Sadowsky. Have a look at their Instagram, gives you more of an idea of what they do, I would say they seem more varied than the likes of Sadowsky.

  3. Great thread and convinced me to take the plunge, and I’m very pleased I did 🙂 . I bought a bass headphone amp (I will not mention the brand) before this, in an attempt to introduce some wirelessness to my practice, but the Bluetooth function was just unusable because it was so noisy. Sometimes I just want to practice with a metronome or with iReal pro app and the noise was too distracting. It could have been a fault hence why I’m not going to mention any more in case it was a one off. Anyway I sent it back and stumbled upon this thread. Although these are expensive, and I was anxious they might have similar noise issues but absolutely not. I am very impressed and the extra features and sound quality are so worth it. They sound fantastic. No conflicts to declare by the way! Bought from GAK and good service there too.

  4. Nothing wrong with being a little cautious, I was selling a double bass a few years ago , potential buyer said they would collect it, then said they were sending someone because they were in Australia 😂 , then things got weird, so didn’t entertain further.

I’d have this if I didn’t live in a house too small 😭 good look with the sale anyway, it looks like a lovely bass at a fantastic price 👍

  5. Thankfully the shop have now acknowledged the fault and are going to replace all the electronics (Manufacturer will send new pickup system) ....so if that happens, couldn’t ask for more really and hopefully that will be the problem solved!
thanks for your input chaps 😊

  6. Also Stradi in Poland do some great looking mini basses that are similar and from what I can tell from their Facebook page (which has more info than their website) the options are whatever you want. And best of all the pricing seems to be pretty fair as well given they’re made to order....check out the Instagram too...like little works of art!

Yes and if I turn slightly. I remember in an old house my bass amp would make a whining noise when the light in the lounge was on, the room next door. Old wiring I guess.

Interesting thanks ped, it’s driving me mad and I don’t know if this is something I should just be putting up with or is a ‘fault’ and the shop are not particularly helpful so far 😞
