  1. Played a pub in Exeter, best not not name it.

Bit of a spoons look to it and its big

    Lovely lovely landlord.

So maybe 70 or 80 people in there but felt half empty. We played pretty well but just no atmosphere.

Couple of punters came up and aked for biz cards and I had run out, typical!

Been playing there for years but Im beginning to wonder if its worth it.  Good money too...

  2. sold 3 last night, all x Large.

If your demographic is older blokes like ours, we pretty much sell only X large and small for their partners.

To make it work you need a minimum order run of 50 and keep it strictly black and white.

That can get the cost down to about £4 quid a pop.

I can recommend Pins and knuckles for great quality at a good price.

A card reader is a must. They cost nothing and the commission is very small in comparison to making or not making a sale because punters dont carry cash.

Sell them for £15 each, £10 profit per Tee, it soon adds up. we did a day in the studio on the back of T shirt sales alone from the past few months.

Just received one yesterday from Sam, hoping to get stuck into it later 😊👍

I think the Darkglass drive is going to be perfect to me. I'm hoping I'll be able to ditch my B3, ODB3 and Bass DI+ off my board

I've become quite the fanboi of all things zoom (apart from their video recorders), the B1 Four is a great bit of kit for virtually pennies.

  4. Had the B3, sold it, now use a B1 Four as part of my preamp setup (plus a Laney Digbeth).

Smaller footprint, TBH didn't notice any difference in sound quality.

Steve, I've just looked at your Facebook page and can see the venue. That's one to avoid! I hope Dani is ok.

    Yeah she is fine thanks.

We played a fair few of those dives years ago when we were starting out and desperate for gigs.

Thankfully we can be a bit more discerning these days, we wont be back.

  6. Gig last night, rough old dive, bruiser landlord ( nice bloke mind), dodgy clientele etc. p1issed up girl decides to invade the stage several times screeching into the mic. Tops off the evening by jumping on stage and grabbing our singers head and sticking her tongue down our straight female singers throat ( not impressed) and to end a lovely evening, scouser crack head screaming at everyone to f@@k off for 10 minutes straight.

Venue loves the band, wants to rebook in October… opinions?

Happened really fast, our singers a tough old cookie and pushed her away calling her a dirty b1tch.

In an ideal world I guess you would call the fuzz but it was 1am and she just wanted to get home.

Dont think we will be returning to this particular Torbay establishment.

  7. we have been using moving heads for a few years now, they are great but quick tip, put them behind an amp as a backdrop light

so they dont blind you or the punters.

we also used to have a dmx footswitch but I only used it for blackouts at the end of each song. Once that died we didnt bother to replace it which was a shame IMO

Now we just carry a large bag of LED lights and clamps and just attch them around the stage as appropriate with slow colour washes.

Raising the pickup heights isn't going to be easy without spoiling the look of the bass. It's something I'll consider as a future project, but not as a quick fix. So I've purchased (from Amazon, using the gift vouchers I received for Christmas) a Laney DB-PRE Digbeth preamp pedal. I'll let you know how I get on...

I was actually going to suggest giving the Laney pre a go, let us know if it helps.
