1. Hello there chums, This was my backup cab until recently, until a friend of mine needed the driver out of it. Since I'm not doing a lot of gigging at the moment I dont feel the need for a second cab, therefore I don't plan to replace the driver, its gotta go! Its big and heavy, chipboard I believe, covered in your finest dark grey carpet. dark grey is like black: it goes with anything. no matter what stage outfit you wear, it won't clash Talking of black, all the hardwear is exactly that: blacker than a thousand midnights. black heavy duty side handles, black rubber feet, and a really good heavy duty back metal kickproof grille. Even if Courtney Love fell against it in a crack addled haze, your precious speakers would be A-OK. Talking of Hole, there are a few of them: a big 15" one for you to stick a driver in, a smaller one for a tweeter, a couple of cheeky wee ports, and one the size of a toddler's finger on the back for your jack cable. The only bad point I can think of is that this used to be a combo, so the poor thing had it's head lopped off by the owner prior to yours truly. The top has been carpeted, but the texture of the carpet/shade of dark grey is different, you can tell it's a DIY alteration if you look at it. however, does anyone really care? No, remember most people are narcissistic and self absorbed. The same psychological issue, common amongst all homo sapiens, which would make you worry about the slightly different shades of grey on the carpet of your cab that no one can really see, ensures that the audience are only thinking of themselves, their shoes, their hair, getting laid etc, NOT your cab. or your amp, or you at all, so relax and just enjoy your life. That motiviational tip was free, but the cab isn't: it will only take £30 collected (I'm in Stirling), and it is yours, ALL YOURS!!!! I could deliver to say Falkirk, Alloa, Dunblane, Coatbridge, Denny for a small agreed petrol fund injection. Pics soon, once i've charged my camera battery and finished [s]checking out pictures of miranda kerr [/s]doing all the DIY tasks on the list my wife left for me.
2. I bought one of these http://www.thomann.de/gb/warwick_bridge_30118_4c.htm Chrome 4 string 2 part bridges for my warwick, as i was thinking of changing from my current black hardware to chrome. I fitted it, then decided to stick with the black, since my bass is black and its nice and stealthy! The total cost from Thomann at the moment is £40 incl delivery. I will sell this, delivered in the UK, for £25. pictures below - when i fitted it i noticed there was a little line of minor rough bits in the chrome. These are very very small and there is no way whatsoever that anyone more than 2ft away could see, but i want to be super super picky and honest so that you know what you're getting Thanks for looking
3. so here are some pictures as promised... it is in very very good condition (i always take great care with my gear, and this has only been gigged around 6 times since i got it). in the first post i mentioned a depression in the grille, i actually dont know if it's just my imagination... have a look at the pics, just above the badge. obviously completely invisible unless you are shining a bright light on it and looking at shallow angle, but i am super picky!
4. This cab is lovingly enveloped in the most fabulous black synthetic carpet you will find, worthy of Axminster! no rips, tears or burns and i always find carpet more durable and forgiving than the plastic covered equipment i have. photo's coming tonight....
5. PRICE DROP TO £525 Delivered in the UK OK so for sale is my lovely Genz Benz Neox 212T, 600w 4ohm cab with adjustable tweeter I love this cab, its very capable, loud, sounds great, and it always surprises everyone how light it is (thanks to the neo drivers) It is in fantastic condition, and has served me very well in a variety of venues and situations. These cabs are very well regarded, just have a search around and you will see they are very good value, great build quality, and packing an amazing punch for the price! Reason for selling - this is currently sitting in the corner of my young baby daughter's bedroom (doesn't really match the decor!) and since we dont intend to have a lot of gigs for the rest of the year, i have decided to sell it and put the money towards 2 1x12 cabs, for a modular system, so i can keep a 1x12 in the house, and add the other 12 for gigs. Pics to come ASAP (probably tomorrow before i will get a chance), in the meantime, heres a link so you can see what it looks like: http://www.bassdirec...eox_Cabs_2.html and here's the blurb with more info: NEOX 212T MRRP £899 600 watt, 4Ω 2 x 12" + tweeter 42hz - 18khz sensitivity 101db 1w/m 52lb/23kg 1" x 21 1/4 " x 16 1/2"/ 78.8cm x 54cm x 42cm A compact, dual 12" design that drives with the heart of a 4 x 10" enclosure. The coupling of the 2 Neodymium loudspeakers along with the X porting of the cabinet combine to project round, solid, explosive performance on any stage. The lightweight design, "Edge-Lift" handles and tilt-back casters make travelling with this NEO a breeze. There is only one minor cosmetic blemish that i can (just about) see, which is a small depression in the grille. it is not noticeable at all on stange, and might not even be possible to photograph, but i will try and capture it as i dont want anyone dissapointed. I believe i have the original box in the garage too, so i will have a look tomorrow. i'm looking for £525 delivered, or of course less if collected (from Stirling). Not looking for trades at the moment, i'd like to take a while to try out some different cabs. thanks for looking cheers Garry
6. hi guys, thanks for all your input - Yep i tested it after fitting the new barrel socket and all seemed fine, i was very careful to connect the wires up the same way as the existing socket, and given that it did work for a bit, i think i got that right. The new socket was one of the Maplin ones whick are neutrik however - the idea of my damaging some of the internal components by getting too much heat into the socket when soldering is very much a possibility! Or perhaps a poor quality solder joint. so i will 1. pop it open and re-check the terminals are connected to the rigth wires, 2. see if anything is shorting against any other components in the cavity (quite tight in there as the new barrel is longer than the original was). if neither of these reveal any easy error, i will assume ive cooked the damn thing when soldering, and get a new one fitted by someone who knows what they're doing. thanks for your help , i will update with the outcome to help anyone with the same issue in the future cheers Garry
7. As above really - the barrel jack on my corvette was a bit flaky, a common fault on warwicks i'm told. i got a replacement and soldered it in seemingly without a hitch, tested and seemed to work fine - yippee! then at a gig recently, at the soundcheck - no sound..... check amp - not on mute, check tuner pedal - on bypass... everything plugged in. checked various connections then found that the sound came thru full blast if i pulled the cable jack around 4-5mm out of the socket on the bass. When i pushed it fully in it cut out again I bodged a solution on the night by sticking a pound coin and a 5p under the angled jack, to set the distance, then putting a hell of a lot of tape over that to hold the jack still. Is it likely ive cocked up the soldering (looked good to me ) ? or is there something else i could check, before taking it to a man who knows what he's doing? cheers G
8. my backup cab is a laney Richter combo - as above, cheap, bombproof, a bit heavy compared to my shuttle 6.0 & neo cab! yeah sometimes i needed to wrangle the eq to get a decent sound, but got it there... sounds like the head was the issue for you
9. almost payday! time for a wee project? how about a light 15"? you'll be wanting a driver then....
10. hello boys & girls well this was going to be a project, but ive got a newborn baby here and also a pretty fine cab for my needs, so i would like someone else to help this driver fulfill its destiny! I think you all know what this is if you have got as far as reading the ad, but here's the spec from the manufacturer: http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-d...eltaliteII_2515 BlueAran are selling these for £98.42, including delivery, and it is mint and in its packaging, so i'm asking £80 delivered to the UK, that's firm cos i'm in no rush to sell it. Hopefully someone has a project in mind and could use a cheeky wee discount! thanks for reading!
11. i've had this combo for a few years, mostly used at home, only gigged a few times used as a monitor with a PA so never pushed hard. this is a solid amp, probably suited to a beginner/intermediate player in terms of the quality/functions. I can do a one hand lift out to the car, but it aint a lightweight peice of kit, it would be able to handle getting knocked around (been looked after by me though!). As with all combos of this type, you need to add an extension cab to get the full 300w, i think with just the internal speaker it puts out around 175w but I would need to check. plenty of EQ options, on board compressor, switchable horn, does the job. cosmetic condition - 8.5/10 i would say. there are a couple of nicks in the vinyl covering but nothing bad. mechanical/electrical condition - 10/10 all knobs present and correct, all working as it should, i've never had any problems with it at all, and wouldn't expect buyer to have any problems either reason for sale - i've got a baby on the way so cash & space are now of upmost importance! here's some spec: Laney R4 300w Bass Amplifier 1 x 15 Custom Celestion speaker + switchable horn (combo) Equalisation: Bass & Treble controls + 7 band graphic mid ‘Enhance control’ Normal & High inputs Switchable compressor with ‘On’ & ‘Active’ status lights Switchable limiter Pre EQ XLR DI socket FX loop Tuner Out Extension speaker out jack heres a pic from the web, pics of the item coming soon... thanks for looking
12. i just bought a genz benz shuttle from tremblap, happy to report a great guy to deal with - i was in need of an amp at short notice and within a very short time of sending payment i had confirmation it was on it's way, along with a parcel tracking number. highly recommended
