  1. *** PRICE DROP TO £650 *** Hi, all. Up for sale a lovely condition Ibanez SRMS805, with upgrades as described below. I bought this off @Jellyfish, and I think it first came from @Kev via @Prime, & I think it's Kev's description of the upgrades which I attach below. I had one of the stock ones before (when it was called an SRFF805, I seem to remember), and although it was a great bass it was a bit dull & unresponsive to my ears, exactly due to the rather substandard Chinese Bartolinis and Ibanez electronics. So all that's fixed in this one and I can attest, having tried both, to the superb upgrade in sound. In all, you've got a £999 bass with almost £400 of upgrades, all for a bargain £750. The only upgrade I made was to replace the plastic knobs with rather nice metal ones, which adds some aesthetics! Condition-wise it's excellent, just a bit of buckle rash but nothing extraordinary. Low action, plays beautifully with no issues. I'm only selling as I'm not playing the sort of stuff that this fits, so it's a bit superfluous, but I love the sound, weight and the feel of the fanned frets. Collection from Bath, or meet up close to. If it goes for the asking price or thereabouts I'm more than happy personally delivering almost anywhere within a few hundred miles of Bath, I quite like making a day out of it! I would be willing to post, & to do so I'd take the neck off & pack it all well (if untidily, going by past experience of my packaging skills!). So here's the description of the upgrades, let me know if you need any further information. And you can always come round & try it out in Bath! "Up for sale I have a special bass, an Ibanez SRMS805 multiscale 5 string bass. This one has the Twilight finish with some lovely grain poplar burl. I bought this new last year and stripped out its Ibanez preamp and its seriously average chinese licensed Bartolini BH2 pickups out and installed US Classic Bass Soapbars and a 3 band Bartolini HR-5.2AP/918 preamp. Configuration has changed from stock to make this the ultimate tone machine and works as follows:- Volume - Push Pull Active/Passive Blend Treble Mids - Push Pull Frequency Selector Bass Toggle Switch 1 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Bridge Pickup Toggle Switch 2 - Series/Coil Tap/Parallel Neck Pickup If you've played a stock SRMS805 before, this one will play the same but tonally it really is an entirely different animal. Its fantastic and the array of different tones you can get from all the different coil arrangements is wonderful."
  2. It really does - lots of effective knobs to fine tune your sound to pretty much anything you want, from cracking "modern" tones to dub bass, through (of course) rock, which I think is what Ashdowns are most revered for. A great combo!
  3. *** PRICE DROP £150 *** Good condition Ashdown, model as in the description, made in China. All fully working with no issues. It's a great EVO amp, with the bells & whistles associated with the EVO name - compressor, shape, drive, sub, etc, and a nice shiny front plate to show all these off. Very versatile & will certainly handle pub gigs & rehearsals with ease. £250 or near offer, collection from Bath but I will drive it a fair distance (say 90 miles max one way) to deliver/hand over at no charge. No postage as it's really too heavy. No flight case/cover.
  4. Excellent example of @walshy's work, a black/maple P-bass, reliced as supplied. I actually got this as a trade from Paul for a Line 6 Helix, and was very pleased with the trade, but now this is surplus to requirements (I only use my '79 P-bass and a couple of LTDs now). So it's as pictured. As I remember (perhaps Paul could provide more detail) it's got a Bareknuckle pup, and has a Gotoh hi-mass bridge, not sure of the tuners but they're very precise & responsive. I've added Schaller straploks. I think it's good that it has the Bass Monkey logo, as opposed to a Fender decal. It plays & sounds superb - the Bareknuckle is nicely aggressive & responsive with a JJ Burnel feel to it, if I'm honest. So if you're after that Stranglers vibe ... I'm starting at £500 - a very low price for one of these, tbh, I think the price for these is usually > £1,000, but I'm aware of the current economic environment and although I'm not desperate to sell, I'd like this to go to someone who'd use it in anger! Collection from fairly central Bath, Somerset, and I'll deliver within 90 miles (thus avoiding coming into London!!) for nothing. Otherwise I can post, although I'd take the neck off & pack up that way. Viewings/auditions welcome.
  5. Correct - I actually can't quite believe that it's still here after all the reductions. Perhaps £600 initially was unreasonable in the present climate (although that was less than its "trade value" when I got it), but £350?! Roll up, ladies & gentlemen!!
  6. Lovely Fender Mexico Jazz Blacktop bass up for grabs. You don't see many of these, especially not with the mods here. So it's a standard Blacktop jazz bass, I think from 2011, with the following excellent mods: EMG "Geezer Butler" humbuckers in both positions Babicz Full Contact bridge, Z series, in black Black Schaller tuners Black metal knobs It sounds absolutely awesome with the currently-installed flats, with some really dark sub tones coming out of the EMGs but still retaining the precision/jazz character. I love Babicz bridges, & I'm sure the bridge here adds to the tone. Low action, no electrical issues, etc. There are a couple of scratches (which I'm sure could be polished out) & one ding, which I've attempted to picture. It has the usual signs of light usage but nothing noticeable. Also I don't have the original bridge or pickups, I traded for it on BC & this is how it came. So, collection from pretty central Bath. I'll also drive it for a fair distance (say 100 miles max), or meet up somewhere, but postage only at your arrangement. Thanks for looking!
  7. It really is - I use it with either a TC or an Orange, both sound superb. And LOUD!
  8. Yes, the tweeter control is inside the middle side port. Hard to photograph!
  9. HI, all - selling my Barefaced Super Twelve as I have a TC stack and, awesome though this is, one of them has to go & I think this'll sell more quickly. Nothing to say about this other than it's an absolute beast - beats every 6x10, 4x10 & lower I've tried - it's portable, loud, sounds amazing & stands up to every bit of hype Barefaced has had over the years. Obs it's a 2x12, with variable tweeter. Condition is used but good - no dents, major scuffs, etc, but it's obviously been gigged (I bought it just before lockdown & have used it for one rehearsal). No postage on this - I'll deliver for £0 within 50 miles of Bath (including S Wales!), and of course you're welcome to come round to try/buy/cart off. Please just ask if you need more info/photos.
  10. Hey, John - where are the dot markers on this, if you don't mind me asking? On the "fret" or between the frets where they would be on a fretted? Thanks, Pete

  12. 9.2 lbs! Sorry, I posted this earlier but not as a reply to you, don't know whether you saw it or not.
  13. Would prefer not, but let me know what you have in mind, you never know!
  14. Good spot - I think it's the same basic colour, but the body's been aged so the cover is thinner, so the headstock looks "more" green, as it were. But yes, they are slightly different shades.
  15. Hi - the weight is 9.2 lbs on a pretty accurate set of electronic scales. Sorry about the delay, moving house over the last couple of days! Pete
  16. Fancy a straight trade for a GK RB700 Mark II? With case? See my ad on the Amps & Cabs forum. And I happen to be coming to Torquay either this Saturday or next. Let me know.
  17. Gallien-Krueger GK-700RB Mark II bass amplifier, in superb condition with hard rack/carry case. I got this as a trade, tested to check full working order (check!). It's in great nick, and comes with the front handles. Collection only from Bournemouth, or I will drive for a contribution to fuel, up to 100 miles, contribution to be agreed before I travel. I'm often in Seaford (near Brighton) over the next week, so I'll deliver along the A/M27 for nothing. I won't post this because of the fragility/weight. Looking for £450.
