I struggle to get paid for the ones that I actually do on occasions! If you want me to not do it for you, I can send bank details!

I am with @Clarky on how I pronounced it and yes, @Kev I am sure they must regularly do it to remind people. I must confess I use their strings but don't follow them as there is only so much they can say on Twitter!

      Nah @Lozz196, I wasn't to meet Andy until 5yrs later in 1994.

The musicians I admired all regularly practiced and I am embarrassed to say it took me almost 3 decades to work out why they were better! I do at least an hour a day these days and my playing has skyrocketed. I'm not sure it has fixed my desire for new gear though...

That's really cool Rich. I've had a couple of 80s rockers like my statuses but not quite at that league.

  8. Im in tone heaven. Ampeg valve amp, Pbass and flatwounds. Who would of thought they went well together. I'm pretty sure I'm the first to discover this combination 😉 haha.

Thanks to everyone who commented or liked this status. Cancer can be so cruel so I feel it is important to celebrate the successes. And let's all send positive vibes towards @TheGreek's brother.

I have the 50w version which is my favourite head of all the heads I've ever owned. I'd be interested to hear how you get on with it & how loud it can sound.

It was my first bass, albeit back in the late 80s when they were "made in Japan" models. It got sold off years ago and I decided to get a replacement once I was back on my feet, opting for another Japanese Fender 50s P-bass. Interestingly the Japanese models now (or mine at least) don't have that wide neck, opting for a more conventional C shape. I did like the old neck but mine is still pretty cool.

@discreet I'm with you on facial piercings. I don't mind a small nose stud on some people but too much more is not to my tastes. And I really don't like those stretcher earrings which give people a giant earlobe. I guess we all have our limits!

@SpondonBassed, an interesting response. To clarify on my earlier post, the last couple of surveys I've read suggest that amongst 18-25s most now have one and perhaps more bizarrely 51% of Police Officers are now tattooed. So I think the cult thing has moved on a little, although I suspect you are probably correct in that a nation the majority are not tattooed still. Things do move in fads so I wonder if the next generation will reject them? I preferred them when they were less widespread but I think since the likes of David Beckham they have moved more mainstream. I'm well aware of the history with prison tattoos etc and it makes for some interesting, albeit occasionally very dark history. I get that many people do not like them. Personally I cover mine for work and I fully subscribe to the theory if you want to be different these days, don't have one. The line which made me laugh recently was neck tattoos (an area I'd never go) used to be a symbol of strength and possibly law breaking, whereas now it usually means "I ride a vegan unicycle!"

Tattoos still seem to be a subject everyone has a strong opinion on. When I started, tattoos were back street shops in bigger towns where only bikers, sailors & sex workers went. I was part of that Guns N Roses generation where we wanted to look like rock stars. Now there are tattoo parlours next to Starbucks in most towns & the majority of folk seem to have at least one. I do worry that prominent large tattoos are cropping up very quickly on younger people but ultimately your skin holds out for years & once you get really old, it doesn't look great anyway so you may as well go for it, if someone really wants one. I finish my second full sleeve at the end of this month.

Those Italia ones look great. I was very much between the two when I bought the Eastwood. It's an amazing bass but I don't think I'd have been upset if I went for an Italia.

That "Ampeg" is actually an Eastwood and that is the second time my cunning placement of a decal on the body has fooled someone. It saved me about £2k! xD

@borntohang there is neck dive but this would be a quick fix moving the strap button. Eastwood have always impressed me too.

I spent the day in the studio with my Rickenbacker 4003s. I love it - haters gonna hate as Taylor Swift once sang, but it works for me. Enjoy it! B|

For what it is worth you are not alone. Today saw my third £300+ vet bill in less than 12 months for my cat and a £250 excess on my car insurance to pay too. I didn't even have a witticism to fall back on.
