1. A friend of mine sent me and some fellow musos some pictures of a bass that he bought in a Gloucester music shop in about 2002. None of us can identify it - can anyone help? Thanks for looking 👍
2.
Also every wedding is different ... Do they have any input into your set beyond what you already play ? Are you providing PA , lights, DJ or other extras Do you need to set up and sound check early and hang around (if do is in same room as meal etc) Is it for a friend or is it for someone who is coming to you "strictly business" Do you believe your set is tight and your singer good enough to charge a lot Are you starting out and want to build a reputation for value So many items to consider
Just about the best post ever
3. Bought a CIJ 75 RI Jazz from Tom, great communication and he was ready for my early visit despite a very late night before out gigging, very pleasant and friendly transaction, very pleased with the bass, thanks Tom !
4. Bought a Retrovibe Aero from Bob. He is a very friendly guy to deal with and the bass is just as described. He is just up the road so hopefully will de dealing with again in the future, thanks Bob!
5. Andy was looking for a bass effects pedal and I sent him my Zoom B1 in return for a donation to BC, good comms throughout and a nice guy to deal with. cheers Simon

8. Gallien Krueger 115MBE 200w 4Ohm cab Bought in May to use with my MB200 head but as I have just had to take on the storage of 2 PAs I am running out of space. Its been used for a few practices and one gig but still looks like new, weighs 33lb/15kg. Cheapest current online price I can find is £190, would like £110 collected from Gloucester and if I cant get that I'll hang on to it, only trade I'd be interested in would be towards a white jazz with maple neck. SOLD ON EBAY! I would prefer not to ship but if necessary I still have the original box and estimate that fully insured the cost would be around £20 (for some reason cant get a quote from parcel2go today). 9. Lee bought my Eden Nemesis NA650, straight forward transaction, fast payment, great comms and he even diagnosed and fixed a problem caused in transit. Thanks Lee, enjoy the amp!
10. Eden Nemesis NA650 amp. I bought this from Merton and gigged it for over a year before relegating it to the spare after getting a GK1001RBII to go with my GK cabs. Plenty of head room in a 5 piece function band and nice tone for recording. My obsession with GK continues and as I now have an MB200 as a more prtable if less powerful spare I've decided to sell this. Hopefully the features are shown in the photos, its 275W at 8 ohms, 440W at 4 Ohms and 650 Watts at 2 Ohms. Comes with footswitch for mute/enhance/bypass and a print out of the owners manual. Due to a problem I had when I first aquired this amp (that never reoccurred) and other posts on the web this has been to the amp tech before selling who found that under extreme input load the compressor circuit could be induced to lock up for a short period. He has replaced the compressor stage FET and modified the circuit to avoid this happening as well as replacing a dubious looking capcitor and a general service. Comes with a scruffy but perfectly serviceable wooden rack case which would look tidy if re-covered. £180 *sold* collected from Gloucester, would prefer not to post at this stage but would consider delivering for petrol money depending on location. Would consider trades against a white/maple jazz with cash your way.

13. Some more photos for Matt.

17. Yamaha BB614 Spec: The four string Yamaha BB614 electric bass guitar features the classic BB shape, two spilt single coil and one single coil soapbar with bar polepice pickups, active electronics. Construction: Bolt-on neck. Scale Length: 864mm (34"). Fingerboard: Rosewood. Frets: 21 Large. Radius: 250mm (10"). Body: Alder. Neck: Maple. Tuners: Open type. Bridge: Vintage Style. Pickups: 2 Split single coil, 1 Soapbar single coil. Pickup Switch: Pickup Balancer. Controls: Speed Knobs for Master Volume, Balancer, Trebl, Bass Mid Cut Frequency, Mid Cut On-Off Switch. I got this in a trade and had been using it as practice bass but as I prefer passive basses I'm using my VMJ more now. There is buckle rash on the back, scratches on the front, chips in the headstock, but being black you can only see the last unless you look very closely. The bass control is scratchy when turned (but no problem once in desired position). Some of the control knobs wre replaced by the previous owner but I have the originals. None of the above issues stop this being an easy to play bass with a wide range of tones, but I've priced accordingly. It would make an ideal beginners bass and I would give a discount if purchased with the RBW200 combo I've got sale (£150 for both). Unfortunately I dont have a case for this. £125 collected from Gloucester *SOLD* Not great photos but looked even worse with the reflection of the flash, if you want any more of anything specific let me know.
18. Laney RBW200 combo The RBW200 features 125 watts RMS output into a specially designed HH 12" bass driver and a switchable horn. Equipped with an Active & Passive input for maximum flexibility the RBW200's pre amp is packed with features such as, channel gain, an onboard compressor, variable Enhance, three band EQ including a parametric mid, Presence, switchable limiter, volume and HF in/out switch for the on board horn. An exterbnal speaker can be connected (min 8 ohm) There is also an XLR DI output for connecting to an external power amp/PA or recording device, a global FX loop a headphone socket and a tuner out facility. For maximum flexibility the RBW200 features a unique dual position carpet covered cabinet, which allows it to be used in a conventional position, or kicked back as a monitor. Loud enough for me to use at practices with a (not loud) 5 piece and gigged at one venue where space limited. Great condition, just some scratches on the corner lugs and handle. Soldr
19. Chenzman aka Vince bought my CV Jazz, good comms, arrived at Reading on time for our meet and insisted on giving me some petrol money, great guy to deal with.
20. I've had a few queries today so the following may be helpful; Scale Length 34", width at (brass) nut 44.5mm (give or take half a mm!) and certainly more of precison type neck than a jazz which is why I've not played it much, no fretwear I can see I cant give an accurate weight as I dont have any scales but certainly heavier than a jazz and possiblyy the heaviest bass I've owned apart from an 80's Vox (that reminds me its still at a mates house, must get it back sometime - or maybe not!). Controls are volume for each pickup and master blend, how the active circuit works I dont know but photos below show location of battery and may be of some help if you know what you are looking for - if H the bass who owned this bass previously reads this he may know more. I always think descibing the sound is very subjective but with the front pickup only its a P type sound and very bright and honky with the bridge pickup only, blending is I guess what most would describe as a growlly. It sounds bloody nice and if it ha a skinnier neck theres no way I'd be selling it. As I said in the original post as its unusual I would suggest coming and having a try if you are interested without any pressure to buy it. Withdrawn, gigged it at the weekend and enjoyed playing it so much decided to keep it.
