  1. Straight sale available for £925 collected.  Courier will be extra £40 on top to cover insurance.

I am selling my "Year of Birth" bass that I purchased a couple of years ago.  Since owning it I have rarely played it and it has been kept in the original hardcase, this is only because I only really play Precisions and cannot used to this short scale, mainly purchased because its my YOB bass.

The EB-0 is  designed for players that want to plug in and let it rip. One big Gibson humbucking pickup in the middle position with a single tone and volume to dial in your desired sound.

This EB-0 is in stunning condition for it's age. Original parts including the stock bridge cover and thumb rest apart from the string retainer below the bridge that was added by a previous user. Some buckle rash and scratches but nothing considering the guitars vintage!

Also includes the Original pink lined Gibson hardcase.

  2. REDUCED £270 collected, delivery available for £25.

Selling my Variax 500 guitar, great guitar but as a bassist I don't pick this up as much as I should do other than to play the opening of "Norwegian Wood" using the Coral Electric Sitar effect or "Duelling Banjos" using the Gibson Mastertone banjo effect. 😄

Everything is in great condition as you can see from the pictures, great flexible guitar effects work really well.  Looking for the bass version.

Price is for collection only, delivery possible for £25, or I can meet up for petrol money

  3. Purchased this bass toward the end of last year from GuitarGuitar, here: https://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/product/pxp191018349985001--csl-circa-1970s-4-string-plexi-bass-pre-owned

It’s a great example of CSL’s tribute to the Dan Armstrong  Plexi Bass.

Only selling as I want to get back from being a collector of basses that I don't play, I play my Nate Mendel precision most of the time, everything else stays in its case/bag or looks good on display.

These short scale basses were made by fugigen, same basses carrying Ibanez name also

The bass dates to the mid 70’s and is in great condition as you will see from the pictures attached.

Whilst the case is structurally sound it does show show signs of age, again shown in the pictures.

Price is £499 which is what I paid, I am in Ipswich if collecting otherwise £30 for delivery.

  4. Looking to sell the CSL Plexi bass mentioned in the OP.  Fantastic looking and sounding bass but I am stuck on Precision’s.  I think my Gibson EB0  is next. Anybody recommend a marketplace other than our own to sell vintage basses?

Pretty much everything I picked up was unplayable, worst of the bunch being one of the Gibson Grabber reissues; horrible front bow on the neck and I swear the action midway was about 3/4" off the board, dead strings, didn't intonate.

Was this one of the Gibson Grabbers from '09 or have they been re-relased again?

  6. I keep coming back to the Blackstar Beam for practice, 40w, decent bass response, can be found new for £150.  Does have some bells and whistles in as much as it can be used as bluetooth music streaming speaker, has an onboard tuner and effects for guitar and acoustic also

Attenuators are all well and good if you want to get a decent sound out of a valve amp, but at lower volumes, however, you still have to have enough signal coming through to the speaker in order to make the speaker work efficiently, and not "fart out" (not enough signal getting through to get a decent sound).

Even with an attenuator, 9 times out of 10, a valve amp will unfortunately still be too loud to use at home and retain a decent sound (unless of course, you are after a totally clean sound, or just using it for very quiet practice).

I've been through a few with various guitar amps, the best one I had was a THD HotPlate paired to a 50w JCM800 2x12 combo. It was great for rehearsing, but just that bit too loud for use at home.

A small solid state amp is possibly the best way to go, or a headphone amp/amp modeller.

Thanks skybone.  I was hoping to keep the lb30 sound at low levels.  Stick with the Blackstar beam after hours!

  8. Recently purchased this LB30 with matching LB112 cab, love it.

Later at night, its a little bit loud for home use, could I use a powersoak with this?

From what I have read so far I believe it should be okay as its a lower power amp, but just looking for confirmation

    Thanks

  9.

I am selling a recently acquired guitar, love the look of it, but I just don't have the chops to do it justice.

Its a great guitar, as new, includes all case candy.

Price is for collection, but can offer courier for £30.

    Key Features

    • One-piece maple neck with "C" profile, "bullet" truss rod and "large" Stratocaster headstock
    • 12"-radius rosewood fingerboard with 21 medium jumbo frets
    • Dual custom-designed high-output humbucking pickups
    • Four control knobs (volume and tone for each pickup)
    • Vintage-style string-through-body Stratocaster hard-tail bridge

    Here’s what Fender say:

Chris Shiflett has his feet firmly planted in two worlds, with impeccable punk/hard rock credentials as longtime guitarist in the Foo Fighters and with an authentic love for country, as heard in Chris Shiflett & the Dead Peasants. His abiding love for the Telecaster guitar and for huge humbucking sound comes together in one kickass instrument with his name on it—the Chris Shiflett Telecaster Deluxe. Modeled on his favorite '72 Tele Deluxe, it's an especially affordable beauty that rocks hard with authentic Fender tone.

    12” Fingerboard Radius

This instrument features a fingerboard radius (the amount of curvature across the width of the fingerboard) that, at 12", is substantially more flattened than both a vintage-style 7.25" radius and a modern 9.5" radius. Feels notably flat even though there’s still slight curvature, and is great for bending notes without fretting out.

    Shiflett Humbucking Pickups

Chris Shiflett’s signature Tele Deluxe is armed with a powerful pair of specially voiced Chris Shiflett "CS" humbucking pickups with nickel covers.

    F-Stamped Tuners

Chris Shiflett’s Telecaster Deluxe model features the nicely authentic touch of sealed tuners stamped with the stylized capital "F" from the classic Fender script logo.
