I haven't played this particular bass but looking at this one the only feature it has comparable to the Thunderbird is a vaguely similar body shape.

People complain about the neck dive on ordinary 'birds, this one's going to be off the scale!

    It's always been a non-issue for me.

Bit limiting of where you put your thumb / pluck the strings, isn't it.

Never used a thumb rest myself, but isn't something longer and more parallel to the strings more useable?

It's connected by suction...you can change the position.

The shape doesn't seem perfect but it should get the job done.

  3. Don't let anyone talk you out of it if you want to upgrade.

I did, and my Squier's twice the bass it was before.

Sure, the stock pickups are okay, but do you want okay or do you want something special?

  4. Dean Exotica, the older model with the Aphex System electronics, Aural Exciter and Big-Bottom Sound.

Wouldn't trade my for a Tacoma Thunderchief, an Earthwood, Guild, etc, etc, etc.

I believe in the MTV Unplugged school of thought...plug in!

    It's all about tone.

    Thank you.

So the 40th anniversary is for becoming a brand in 1982.

What was the 50th anniversary for? What happened in 1946?

Hard to find an answer for that one.

On another board, someone actually said "50th Anniversary of the Precison" and people actually gave it thumbs up.
