The marketplace does has a section for this: https://www.basschat.co.uk/forum/36-recycling/
The most straightforward way to contact a mod to request the thread is moved is by reporting your own post: click the three dots at the top right of your original post and there should be a 'Report' option.

Thanks very muc h for letting me know this. As it is the until has already gone so I will try to edit/delete/report this post to avoid any confusion.

  2. Hi all,

As the title says. It's a Genz Benz Contour 500 which has never been gigged or even above 1 on the volume setting. It's the same 2 X 10 inch speaker model as the attached image. I got mine for about £350 new. The amount of money it would take to send it second hand means I want someone to come & pick it up from Newcastle upon Tyne because it's just taking up space. It's free to a good home/anyone prepared to pick it up. It'll require a new 3 pin cable as per the other attached image but that aside it's first come, first served.

I didn't put this in the classifieds because it's free. If that's wrong please let me know.

    Cheers, Simon

  3. Up for sale is this Sandberg VM5, bought in 2017. These cost £1,500 - £1,700 new. This is in as good condition as you could reasonably expect for a 2nd hand bass, and going for £1000.00 + postage. It's spent most of it's life hanging on my wall, no gigging or dings, just the usual minor scuffs on the scratchplate. It's active with a passive mode by pulling up on the volume knob. It has a blend knob along plus treble/bass contour knobs with a central default notch. Comes with a gig bag and if posted will be packed in the original packing box. I'm based in Newcastle upon Tyne but will be going down to the midlands soon in case a meetup is preferred. It'll be sent in it's gig bag plus the original packing container it arrived in.

    Welcome aboard! :crigon_04:

    Very nIce indeed.

How about confusing yourself further by stringing E-C?

... can you do that? I suppose you can, but it not being top B will mess with my head even more than having a B string where a low E should be whe world makes sense.

Sshhh! You don’t want the rile up the locals and have them digging out their flaming torches and pitchforks.

Head over to Guitar Chat for skinny stringed talk, there’s a few of us there too, but keep it on the QT. 😉

Chastened and told :) Bass all the way and I'm already reading posts and starting to get the measure of my own ignorance about things I'd love to know.

That’s how we lure you in, wait until we fire up the pot with aromatic vegetables for ‘Ex-guitarist Stew’. What, we don’t do that anymore? Look, just because I peed in the broth when you tried to poach me is no reason not to try again with others who might not ‘leak’ as much; no fair! 😩

Ex guitarist? Errr... I didn't go that far! The reason I have a 5 strings bass is because I think I might be somewhere in betweeen 4 and 6. Bi-stringual, if you need to stick a label on me (flounces off and picks up his ukulele to the horror & confusion of all.)

Must admit, the low B really messes with my head after so many years with a low E.

I also must admit, what a nice welcome people get around here!

  8. Just wanted to say hi. Been playing the squealy 6 strings for decades but fairly recently the bass. I'm beginning to realise just how much fun it is and how much there is to know.
