strings arrived surprisingly fast very even, from string to string. both tonally and tension.

so... managed to get hold of neil via facebook. few e-mails were exchanged - i've said what kind of set i would like, he proposed what he thinks would work for me, order for one set for testing was placed etc... very quick and easy communication.

i chose newtone because someone here recommended them as a viable replacement for kalium. sadly, there is no great variety of available options for bass strings where i live [south-eastern europe].

newtone are UK string manufacturer d'addario - no can do anymore... played d'addario from '89 to '12-something, then was bitten by balanced strings bug. circleK at that time, kalium now. ordered from them a few times - batches of 5-6-7 sets at the time, but it takes too long to arrive to europe and customer support is non existent on this side of the ocean. kind of expensive also, but cheaper than buying 5-string sets from d'addario and having a drawer full of .45 strings. will need new batch of strings soon and were evaluation my options for getting them from europe. did not know that. will give them a call next week. kind regards

sent them an e-mail end of february, asking about tension of their strings and possibility of making me a 4-string BEAD set as balanced as possible. never got a reply. few weeks ago sent them an instagram DM about not receiving any reply from them. again no reply. was my question that stupid or they do not care about selling their product?
