1. Recently did a trade deal with KingChrome aka Sascha from Germany, involving trading basses and a payment top up.
Great guy to deal with. Brilliant communications, excellent packaging and 100% trustworthy. Deal with confidence

TK :)

2. I play bass occasionally for our worship team at church.

I first started out in the band as a bass player only and it was a mega steep learning curve but improved my playing a lot. I always remember the first practice where i was handed a sheet with chords on in G for a song i'd never heard and told by the worship leader: " we play this in Bb".. * Starts the song.... :o This sort of thing whilst very uncomfortable to start with, seriously improves your command of an instrument IMO (Well either that or you get thoroughly frightened off... not to sure if its good.... worked for me in the end though)

The worship leader and his wife had lead the worship thing in our church for years, within a year of me joining said church (and becoming a Christian i might add) they had to move away to be closer to their family so Mrs TK (who plays keyboard/piano) and I were asked to take over... much steeper learning curve... :o :o

I basically had to learn how to play a guitar pretty fast. Whilst i have done it a few times, it is pretty hard to lead with bass IME. Much more difficult to control song dynamics etc... + the whole singing thing is much harder with bass ...(well it is for me anyway)

We had a great time doing it and really got properly involved in the whole church family as a result. Having recently started a family and now with 2 very young kids we handed our leading of the team to another couple. We still both play in the band though less regularly and i still lead worship once every month or 6wks or so.

I'd recommend it from both a spiritual and musical standpoint. Have fun :)

Hey there TK.
Any issues re condition/functionality?
What sort of playing time has it had?
Are you the first owner from new?
Hey HKH

No Issues whatsoever. No dinks or bumps. A bit of pick-guard swirling, the neck is the MM un-finished, gunstock thing so you can see its been played but its not filthy

I'm not the first owner and the MM case is not its original case. It came to me in a trade in the Gig bag.

Personally i've done 1 Rock gig, 5 church services with it and about 20 band practices i guess. Its not been played a lot IMO, not much wear. + Its got a brand new set of Rotosounds on it (well about 2 hrs played)

You/anyone is welcome to come and try it or take a look first. Cup of tea and a hobnob complementary ;)

Heres a little more info on the finish/spec etc: http://www.musicman.de/news/music-man-stingray-special-splatter-edition.html

4. Hi all.

I've got this super Stingray to sell/trade. I believe there were only 25 of these made.

Standard 3EQ setup with:
Ebony finger board, black hardware and of course the flashy paint job.

It has the best neck i've ever had on a stingray, plays like a dream. (I did briefly contemplate swapping the neck from this with my other Ray actually)

£950 delivered in the UK with a MM hardcase or £925 with a battered but functional Gig-bag.

Trade bait with cash adjustments, as needed either way:

Troy Sanders Jaguars
F Nate Mendel P bass
P/J basses
70's P basses (ideally 1979)
Gibson RDs, Victorys or possibly those quirky new EB things
Lakland Duck Dunn P
Warwick Jack bruces (the cheaper indo made ones)

just spent a good 5 mins trying to work out the acronym in the title only to realise the acg is spelt wrong! must admit thats cracking, i could seriously be tempted by an ACG lovley looking things.

😂😂😂oops, sorry about that...

6. On a bit of a whim I did a trade for this truly wonderful ACG Finn bass (thanks Rory 😊). I kinda fancied a fiddle with a filter pre-amp. If I'm honest, I thought it might well be a bit of a passing through bass. It's quite "out there" for me. I've always been a fairly traditional bass sort.. Musicman/Fender is where it's always been at for me or one of their clones or copies.

If you haven't tried one...do. I can honestly say it knocks every bass I've ever owned into a cocked hat. (I've owned some really nice basses too)

The filter pre-amp is a total revelation. Why don't more basses have them? It's such a good and obvious idea when you think about it.. The range of tones is almost infinite AND I seem to be able to get a lot of those tones in my head that I can never quite get...bonus!!! (I'm thinking Tool and BSSM type noises originally produced from Wals I guess mainly)

The asymmetric neck profile.. (I was not expecting it to be my cup of tea) it's just brilliant! So ergonomic... And again fairly obvious when you think about it...

Finally the finish, balance and general feel and resonance of the thing are just inspiring. I practiced with it for about 4 straight hours 2 nights in a row... I haven't done that in at least 10yrs...

I am seriously considering selling all my other basses and maybe even commissioning an Uber spec one..

Happy days!

7. Hi all.

Been out of bands for a couple of years (2 kids added to the me and MrsTK unit). Just getting going again but now i can't practice much sense at night cos the kids are asleep innit....

I need some sort of device you can plug headphones, a bass and an ipod (other MP3 players are available) into for some decent but non disturbing 9pm+ practicing. I'm sure there is something suitable out there, any suggestions/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks TK

8. This used to be mine. Monster sounding Bass. The pick-ups are just brilliant. Would gladly have it back if i had a spare £700 kicking around. One of only 2 basses so far that I don't think i should have sold with the benefit of hindsight (along with my Status necked Sabre  )..... Damn the GAS!!

GLWTS Neil.

Bump :)
