  1. Everyone has the right to like what they like, to prefer what they prefer, I'm not arguing with your right to want things how you want them, but you wrote "maaaaaaaaajor flaw", "WRONG", "a flaw in design" and "You people are weird". Either you felt your personal preferences to be the only choices with any validity, or you were too impatient to work out why it was wired differently to your expectations. Some people's personal preference is for commentary that prioritises curiosity and understanding over opinion and judgement — but perhaps that, too, makes them "weird"? 😘
  2. From a process pov, my task, as a user of the forum, is to respond to a call for visual or functional details that could be polished. My trying to second guess which ones could be reasonably felt to be worth the necessary effort would just make the process less efficient / effective.
  3. I think this used to happen before, but while we've being asked – the sign saying, there's another tag we're not showing you is bigger than the tag itself
  4. Turn a tone knob anticlockwise and the treble is cut. Turn a Sadowsky blend knob anticlockwise, reducing the bridge pickup, and the treble is cut. It makes perfect sense. If you can't cope with it, you can't cope with it, but it still makes sense.
  5. To imbed this image, I simply pasted the URL I had cut from the image's site into the reply box and TA-DA
  6. Since this thread is taking a moment to peer into its navel....
  7. Oops, didn't mean to post 🤦‍♂️ Sorry
  8. I know it's much nicer to be able to choose for oneself, but it does make several years worth of posts look unreadable....
  9. You didn't happen to buy a dark redburst TRBX while you were in there, did you? No? Damn.
  10. Also, previously, single carriage returns were automatically doubled. Now they aren't and so all the paragraphs in existing posts are running together eg
  11. What would be nice would be if edits done in the first couple of minutes didn't leave an Edited by Typo Ridden Fool at 16:33 on Thu 22 July 2022 sign
  12. Took me a while to find where the Mark Forum As Read button was hiding
  13. Dammit, I had a whole list of things to do today
  14. To be honest, I was shopping for a bass to put a Dimarzio Model P into .... essentially I've tried to create an impersonation of an early 80s Ibanez Blazer 🙃
  15. Having spent the day playing the new P, I'm delighted with it, and I'm also delighted to find that there's just no overlap in character between it and my BB — they've both got clear personalities and voices of their own. Now, please can I stop throwing my money around? 😖
  16. Matt sold me his Squier Matt Freeman Precision and the whole experience was a breeze and a pleasure. His legendary packaging immediately got reused, helping me move on another instrument with the confidence that I wasn't just sending it off to be turned into firewood
  17. Red tort and cream pearloid, perfect yes yes yes
  18. Trying to remember if I still have any friends who like doing crosswords. Added to the mix, Fender Precision doubles the root (10, 5)
  19. I believe the seller enjoyed being the person who would help my luck finally turn 😊
  20. Definitely a good thing for me. I shall be sure to give the Wilkinson bridge the occasional grateful glance I thought I recalled reading a little grumble somewhere about the stock electronics being a weak spot. Well, that's great pair of things to hear, thank you very much. I've not the experience to give a useful objective opinion about the bass, but I know that I'm happy with everything about it I don't know about a P being all the bass you could ever need, but right now this feels like all the P I'll ever want. On Monday I got a Hotone Ampero multieffects unit. One of patches I had created is Xotic RC Booster + Alembic F-2B preamp + David Eden 4×10 — through that the bass is sounding effortlessly commanding.
  21. Just out of curiosity, do you or @hooky_lowdown know how much of an upgrade (or not) the Wilkinson bridge and the KiOgon loom constitute? The specs say the stock is "4-Saddle HiMass Bridge with Brass Saddles". To be honest, I could happy live with normal shiny knobs and bridge, but I'm delighted to have a pearloid pg instead of the stock black And knobs and bridge do match the all-black pickups. Much better than half one way, half the other. I've just remembered — you're having a Dimarzio Model P put into the P you're having built, aren't you? I'm really enjoying its tone — strong without changing the essence of the P sound.
