  1. Problem solved, i had to use some small force and wiggling to remove the grill. I used a screwdriver without the head in the grill holes on the sides and pulled and wiggled slowly. The grill has rubber on the sides and that holds the grill really tight.. The speaker material is quite interesting, i googled the speakers and the specs, the speaker material is glass fiber. (Faital Pro Neodymium / 8PR200 / https://faitalpro.com/en/products/LF_Loudspeakers/product_details/index.php?id=101030200) Anyway, i'm glad if i helped anyone in here. 🙂 Thanks for your support guys.
  2. Hi, Recently i bought a secondhand Trace Elliot 208. The cab seems to have collected a bit of dust on the speakers and i want to clean them with a soft cloth. Does anyone know how to remove the grill? The screws on the front seem to be fake screws. Do i need to pull the grill somewhere to remove it? I emailed Trace Elliot about this, but they did not reply. Thanks in advance for your help.
  3. Yeah, the difference in gain or volume to compensate the level drop is quite huge on my bass amp... Like 1/3 of the volume or gain must be added haha, huge.. On my external audio interface it's like 20%
  4. If anyone is curious about this: I bought the 80/20 strings and tried it out myself on my precision bass: They have a nice sound to them, i would say full.. They have an awesome feel to them, really easy to slide and a softer tension when bending/plucking, which is caused by the lighter gauge.. 45-65-80-100, the coating and string material. But they are not being picked up well by the pickups, probably less prone to transfering electricity things.. How do you call it? Less magnetic probably. And because of that, the gain should be set about 20-25% higher compared to 'real electric bass strings' and it may cause some more electrical interference on the signal of the bass. It's not like HUGE, but not sure how it's like on other bassguitars though. I will keep using them for a while
  5. Hello, Did anyone ever try putting Elixir 80/20 bronze strings on electric bass? How does it compare to Elixir Nickel plated steel bass strings? I'm curious about your thoughts soundwise..
  6. I ended up buying a secondhand TE 208 cab and a new Markbass Little Mark 250 blackline head. The 208 is awesome. The low end is incredeble. I never thought it would be that tight, it can seriously move some air... I compared the MB to the TE Elf 200 and the Ashdown Original HD-1: The ashdown sounded a bit liveless to me.. Maybe its ok if you have a really bright bass... I didnt like the compression of the ELF because i noticed that at 50% volume the EQ controls seems to have less effect? It also seemed like the low end was being cut when i raised the volume/gain more. The MB has way more low end and EQ options and it sounds louder then the ELF. Honesty: the VLE and the VPF knobs are kinda useless to me. The VLE can be ok for sub bass tones, until about 30%. Above 30% its like you are playing bass guitar through a subwoofer... The VPF knob made my P-bass sound like i was playing through a 2 inch crappy speaker or something, like it was blown up. The MB fan is barely noticeable btw. Thanks for your help. 🙂
  7. Sorry for replying a few years later. Did you fix it? If yes, how?
  8. Thanks guys. 🙂 Usefull advice. Im hoping to find a shop which has the TE200w, TE 1x10 and Markbass LM250 black in stock so i can try them out. If i like the TE200w the most, then im gonna buy the TE ELF 1x10 Combo version. (Most shops dont have the combo yet.. they say its in stock in august)
  9. Does anyone have the TE200 with the 1x10 cab? This may seem a silly question: The stages i play on are really small.. Mostly i am 1-1.5m from the amp (3.3-5ft) To hear myself better, i tilt-back the amp 45 degrees with a ampstand. I am not sure if i need to tilt-back the TE200+1x10 cab if i'm that close, But... what if i need to? Is it possible to kickback the TE200+1x10 cab 45 degrees or will the amp slide towards the floor? I noticed the cab has a mold shape for the TE200 amp to fit in, i'm curious how well it would hold when it's tilt back 45 degrees. Same question for the markbass lm250 with 1x10 TE cab, but that is heavier, so assume it falls.. But its worth asking..
  10. I have no experience with playing through a 1x10 speaker, only played through a 1x12 and 1x15. How is the bass/low end response with the Trace Elliot and the 1x10? Can it fill a stage or is it just okay for hearing yourself? Do you use a Precision? I use a Precision too... Would love to hear sound examples with a P..
  11. Thanks Sadly, i do not live in UK, i live in Netherlands and i'm actually Dutch. Thanks for the offer though. Do you have any experience or thoughts on the Eden TN226 or Eden amps soundwise? It seems like a nice amp. I asked the questions about the TC E and TE on some other forums too and looked for some topics. It's interesting how most people say that the TC amp are a bit... meh.. okay. It seems most people are exited about TC E Bam200 amp because of the size and price and do not have a strong passion for those amps tonewise.. (if that makes sence.) i'm still wondering if the BQ or BH series sound any different though.
  12. thanks for your long reply. Either size is ok, but i dont want bigger or heavier then the MB LM250. Im a bit of a newbie to differences in tone / bass amp brands, but online i noticed two big differences in bass amps tonewise: scooped/vintage OR tiny bit less low/more mids. Can you explain the differinces in tone, markbass lm250 and tce bam200? How are the lows and mids?
  13. I'm currently considering a ultraportable bassamp rig with TC Electronic OR Trace Elliot, amp / cab. Did you ever try the TC Electronic BQ250? I'm curious how it compares to the BAM200 in tone. If not, maybe anyone else in here can give me some thoughts on it. ---- Did anyone compare the Trace Elliot 1x10 cab with the TC electronic BC208 tonewise? The MarkBass Little Mark 250 seems okay too. Any thoughts on that? Ps. i joined this site today, just for this topic. 🙂
