  1. Anyone else just loving Bartolini pickups? Had some in my P bass for a while and got some in my jazz last week, use it Friday night and blown away by how great they sound!
  2. So, ever since I started to get into bass and learn bass there has been one bass I've wanted, i've always love Fenders and have had several Precisison's and Jazz's over the years (I still have 2 jazz basses that I love) but I've always hankered after a Rickenbacker, a 4001 or 4003, today I finally got a Rickenbacker 4003 and it's everything I hoped. Sensational. Obvs had to take the silly pickup cover off and it's just a rock machine. Very happy.
  3. Played this bass a good few times now and was amazed at the difference in weight and the incredible job Martin and the team did. Superb work, superb instrument.

    Hi

Hey guys/gals, I'm Jef, a Cumbria based bass man. I've been playing bass for 22 years now, I favour playing rock, punk, indie or motown but will play most things (not Oasis). I am a recent Jazz bass convert (within the last 12 months) having been a P Bass man most of my bass playing life. I have 2 Jazz basses; a buttercream Fender Player series, which I have modded, adding a Babiscz bridge a tortoiseshell pick guard, a superb playing and sounding instrument at any price, let alone for as cheap as these things are. I also have a Fender American Pro series in Black which is stock. I run these, pedal free, into a TC Electronic RH450 2x10 combo and a matching 1x12 cab, a superb rig that really can sound like an old SVT into an 8x10 if you want it to. I'd love to add some other basses to my collection at some point, a sunburst P bass, other J basses and top of the list at the moment is a Rickenbacker 4003. Take care!
