  1. Thanks. Since my original post, I was able to remove the horn and determine that it wasn't the problem. I've narrowed it down to either the power amp section of the head or something else with the cab. Dropped it off with a tech yesterday.
  2. I've been getting a bunch of background distortion and I thought it was my amp, but I just figured out that it was coming from the horn in my Ampeg SVT-410HE. I turned the horn level all the way down on the back of the cab and the distortion is virtually gone. However, the horn is still technically working aside from that. Does this mean the horn is blown? Oddly, I checked the crossover and the safety bulbs look fine. They haven't burned out or anything. Should I order a replacement horn? Also, how difficult would it be to replace that myself? I removed the grill on the front of the cab and took the horn screws out to try to see what model it is, but the horn seems stuck in place. Am I missing some necessary step to remove the horn?
