1. I know the 50W's are ridiculously loud for what they are. I do agree though, you dont really see many 50W bass amps around! The 200W will easily cut it i reckon. He's given it a whirl through his bass players 1x12 GK cab and says it sounds fab. Can get a really good nice crunchy tone out of it too. He said channel A (the one with all the EQ) lacks the amount of warmth that channel B has, but can be easily solved with an EQ pedal..... Im just wondering if its worth not bothering and getting an actual bass head...!
2. Hi All, I don't really post on here very much but am always having a look around! I'm currently playing through a Trace Commando 15, which really isn't cutting it for live gigs. It's loud enough but doesn't carry the right tone for the stuff i play. I've been offered an Orange Thunderverb 50 as a swap for my Blackstar Artisan 30H guitar head, which initially I wasn't too bothered about, until reading it can sound really mean for bass. Would it be a decent head? Or am I best off sticking to amps that were actually purposely designed purely for bass!? Cheers guys Chris
3. Thanks pal. Im only really wanting to sell it for the right price as I know its quite a rare one! I am open to offers but no micky taking
4. Hi All, I bought this bass a while back. Turns out im getting back in to guitar, and seem to have about 4 really decent bass's, but no nice guitar to play on! Pics: The person I bought it off barely touched it, and I can honestly say that i've hardly played it either. Never been gigged either. There is very very minor blemishing on the bridge, but I didnt notice it for ages. Other than that, its mint. I can't say i've ever seen one of these before. I wanted one years ago but couldn't seem to get hold of it, so when i saw one for sale I bit the guy's arm off! £400 with Hard Case £375 without. Also might be up for trade - speak to me! Collection in Leeds area - courier can be arranged if buyer wishes. PM me with any interest / queries! Thanks a lot! Chris
5.
Hope this goes well for you - doesn't the Schecter Stilleto come with EMG pickups as standard though? I bought one in 2005 and it did
Yeah the newer ones come with the cheaper EMG-HZ ones, which i believe are just basic pickups. My styletto was bought probably back in 2003, and in all honesty the basic schecter pickups it came with were pretty pants. Now that im in a serious band i thought i should really invest in a good sound as i love the way this bass plays. I came across a few problems with fitting them, in that they were too large... The 35DC's on the other hand would have been too small though and would have just looked completely daft. I spoke to a guy in my local village who is a professional classical guitar maker, and he said he'd route out the pickup holes in order to make the new ones fit, and redress the fretboard for 40 quid! Bargain. I've had these fitted for about a week and i have to say the sound is stunning. Im desperate to gig with them now! =] One thing i did notice while wiring them up, the diagram states that if you are running two pickups, you will only have one tone control (which i found a bit strange :/) But either way, i've wired it as it says and they sound great! Highly recommended.
6. Yeah well the website says they have "parallel placed coils" which i can only assume basically means dual blade magnets. I bloody hope they're alright anyway, ive just ordered two Cant wait to hear the difference!
7. Alright! I've been looking in to EMG pickups for a while, i just want that extra quality! I have a schecter styletto which has pickups with a 4.5" housing. The only EMG's that are a 4.5" housing are the 6 string pickups. I believe these use blade magnets so shouldn't cause a problem if used with a 4 string bass... am i right? Any advice would be ace - also sorry if this question has been asked before! Cheers

Howdy!

Alright guys, My names Chris, im 20 and im from Leeds =] Been thinking about joining a forum revolving bass guitar for a while now, but just never got round to it! Plus this place seems pretty cool. I've played guitar and bass since i was about 5, so quite a fair while, and i've just recently replaced the bass guitarist from a band called Mishkin who are also from Leeds. Just thought i'd say hi, and if anyone is selling any decent 4.5" active pickups that would be suitable for a Schecter Styletto then drop me a PM Cheers!!
