1. Hi all, After thinking long and hard it's time to let this bass go... It's a 2007 5 string Warwick corvette fretless in "antique tobacco" stain. Bass is passive and set up very very well! It comes with a set of la-bella flatwounds. One thing to note; there are a few marks on the bass which are shown in the pictures below. The bass comes with the soft rock-case / gigbag and the original Warwick set-up kit and folder. I'm looking for £400 at least. In terms of shipping; Pick up would be ideal but I'm happy to ship it via courier. Within the Uk, shipping will be around £25 - to be added to the price of the bass. Anyone out of the UK should contact me first. I'm based just to the south of Manchester (2 miles from the airport). I plan to put this on ebay in the coming days. Any questions, please ask! Cheers.
2.
Recently aquired one, im looking to change the strap holders from the standard ones to set of there strap locks. Has anyone done this already? The original ones are quite big, with larger screws than the ones in the offical warwick strap locks. Also is it ok to wax with the standard wax as it did not come with the users kit any advice would be much appreciated, Chelios
Ive done this but the other way around - if that helps. Ive acquired 3 warwicks that came with the warwick strap locks and Ive put warwick "end pins" on instead. Screws were the same.
3. Got a brand new heavy duty warwick rockcase here. It arrived this morning with a new bass but Im not a fan of them. Its the same kind that you get with a custom bass.....seriously heavy duty!! They sell new for 130EUR / £120 but Im open to offers but bare in mind that is pretty much brand new. It done Germany - London - Manchester! Im in south Manc so pick up is an option or delivery for fuel money. Can get a quote for courier. Few pix:

5. Hi mate, Since you're in Stockport, you can try the Moolah Rouge. I think it's still called the Moolah...it used to be called the Nut House. Its on the A6 down that little road where 3M paint's is. Top floor of a converted mill. They have a studio, several rooms and you can rent equipment. Equipment isn't bad. Guys who run it are OK. Havn't been for a couple of years though. It used to be about £40 for four hours which isn't too bad. 01614290986 Also, there is the Greenhouse. Another place in Stockport just off either J27 or J1 off the M60. 01614314127. They are a bit cheaper but the rooms are a little duller. I think they were about £32 for four hours.
6. Oh, I own both (not $$) and I'd go for the Streamer!
7. Hi, Streamer's have always been a little more pricey than Corvette's and I'm certain that the Streamer $$ has the curved shape - as oppose to the vette which is flat. So I guess the cost to make the streamer will be more as it will be made of more than one piece of wood. Another factor may be that the corvette is doing very well and Warwick have made plenty. I'm willing to bet that less Streamers have been made and distributed so the Streamer will be at a slight premium.
8. +1 for Interparcel using UPS. Picked up from Manch UK on 15th Dec and delivered to Riga, Latvia by 23rd using super dooper cheap (but insured) international shipping.
9.
anyone try/use Hi-beams?
I, like you, used elites for a long time - about 10 years. Its only this year that I tried DR hi-beams. Fantastic...love them. But very pricey. Gotta be careful how you fit them too, as they have an inner core that can de-tach from the other layer. I then got a set of D'addario Nickels free for my 6'er and they are even better! So now I'm pro-d'addario. Can't fault them. Not a big fan of Warwick strings - even though I have four warwick basses and think the world of them.
10. Talk about magic eye - I thought it was painted with chrome paint with the pattern being a reflection until the last post about tipex!!
11. Hey guys, this is still for sale but Ive put it up on ebay now as a buy it now (£1200) with "make me an offer".
12.
gorgeous, interesting way of restringing on the tuning posts too!
Was wondering if I ws going to get clocked for this! Years ago I was under pressure to restring a bass at a gig, in the dark and under time pressure so I did it like this ( on a different bass ). Since then Ive found it a good way of doing it. Less fiddley and it works just fine...but I really should do it properly. New years resolution for 2009 I think. Thanks for the comments guys - just hope someone likes it enough to make an offer.
