  1. For sale/For Trade a very rare and sumptuous Peavey Cirrus 6, in Tiger Eye finish, from the USA Custom Shop of Peavey with the same specs of Porcaro's one but with 6 strings.

This is the first series of Cirrus made by Peavey's custom shop. Those among others that were played on stage and in the studio by Mike Porcaro or John Taylor.
This bass is in excellent condition and is with all options. It dates from the early 00's and it cost more than $3500 for a new equivalent model. At the dawn of the 21st century, that was a lot of bucks.

The options on it are the maple fingerboard and the Millenium preamp with a mid frequency control.

These basses are recognized worldwide for their wonderful qualities. The workmanship is exceptional and the design is full of very ingenious ideas, including :

    - A graphite reinforcement below the entire fingerboard
    - A neck with an asymmetrical profile like Tobias basses
    - A carbon head veneer under the maple veneer to stiffen the assembly and obtain better sustain
    - Specific pickups at the base for this model then adopted throughout the range, which have a magnetic field directed towards the outside of the pickups, and therefore more precise and dynamic than conventional design PU
    - Identical pickup placement to Ken Smith basses with humbuckers
    - A neck in satin finish, and a gloss finish body
    - A preamp powered by 18V (more headroom/dynamics)
    - A 35-inch scale length that reinforces the fundamentals of low notes

It's just beautiful to look at, the neck is a real highway, and the body bevels are really pronounced which makes the ergonomics just terrific.
In my opinion, it is almost impossible to find an instrument as well made and designed in this price range on occasion, the coast of which is slowly starting to rise for this finish in the USA.

One or two small farts on the body impossible to photograph, and the rest is almost mint.

Here are the complete characteristics of this bass:

    Body: Mahogany Wings

Top: Beautiful quilted maple, in two parts and rather thick

Neck: 7 parts bird's eye maple and amaranth, through and with an asymmetrical profile

    Fingerboard: Very beautiful Maple

Trussrod: A 100% functional double action rod, the neck is ultra reliable and rigid with this carbon reinforcement

    Tuning Machines: Hipshot Ultralite

    Nut: Brass

Inlays: None on the fingerboard, Cirrus abalone inlay at the 12th fret, and abalone Dots on the edge

    Scale: 35 inches

Frets: Nickel/Silver of rather standard size, they are not Jumbo, and condition 9/10 (see photos)

Pickups: Two Active Peavey VFLs and Humbuckers

    Preamp: Preamp 18V Peavey Millenium

Knobs: Volume/Balance/Bass/Mids + Mid selector freq/Treble (note that the knobs are made of solid wood)

Bridge: Hipshot Type A, currently set to 17mm

Finish: Gloss on body and front of headstock, oiled/waxed on back of neck

    Hardware: Gold

    Straplock: Schaller

The string height at the 12th fret below the B string is currently 2.2mm and 1.85mm below the C string. You can still go down, but for my right hand attack it wiggles a little too much, and I set the neck almost perfectly straight to get a nice growl.

It is fitted with 32-130 nickel strings and will be sold with a set of DR Black Beauties in addition.

Comes with the original Peavey case in very good condition.

    Year of manufacture: 2000-2002

    Country of manufacture: USA

    Price: 2500€

A trade could be possible with a fretted or fretless bass, 4 to 6 strings. Just ask me !

In the USA she is rightly named "The Poor Ken Smith Bass". In my opinion, it has nothing to envy them.

You will find sound of this bass recorded without any live effects in the sound card right here (I can do more if needed) and all the pics : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-Rg0gtDezYXlaejsx-2VSWiynjRIw5Ry?usp=drive_link

  2. Hello everyone !

For sale/trade a magnificent Leduc Masterpiece 624 from 1992, with the famous Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard from 1895.
This bass is sublime, the neck is nicely flamed, and the ash body grain has a truly original "design".
This instrument is in excellent general condition, there are just a few light marks on the varnish, but nothing serious and the frets are not marked.
The neck is healthy and straight, no complaints.

Everything is original on this beautiful Leduc, it is one of the very first with the EL-5 electronics and the phantom coil between the two Benedetti pickups.

I am parting with it with regret, but choices have to be made.

You can hear it right here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1OatS5RYv1SOukiTQhs9AOpybFfzcZekZ/view?usp=drivesdk

For additional soundclips I can request them without any problem, just ask me.

  3. For sale/trade a superb Leduc HMP628SF in excellent condition.

For those who don't know, it's a Masterpiece Headless Fretless 6 string with 28 positions.

If you are looking for a fretless with a very deep sound, lots of presence and depth in the lows-frequencies as well as singing highs without being too aggressive, then this is it.

The 1890 Brazilian Rosewood fingerboard is in perfect condition and provides magnificent low mids like a Jazz Bass from the 60s, but with much more advanced craftsmanship and incomparable playing comfort for a 6-string bass.

The fact that it is headless allows for perfect balance when playing seated or standing, it is a real pleasure to place your fingers on this instrument without any tiredness.

This bass has very few playing marks, no scratches and no buzz to be deplored for an instrument over 30 years old.

Here are the characteristics of this Leduc:

    Body: French Alder Wing

    Top: N/A

    Neck: One-piece Canadian hard maple

Fingerboard: Brazilian rosewood from 1890 (over 130 years old!)

Trussrod: Two single-action rods manufactured by Leduc which function perfectly and allow differential neck adjustment

    Tuners: Leduc Headless System

    Nut: Ebony

Markers: White dots on the fingerboard and on the side

    Scale: 34 inches

    Frets: N/A

Pickups: Two Bartolini Original Quad Coil 90P46C

    Electro: Leduc EL-6 18V 3 Bands with Semi-Parametric Mids

    Knobs: Volume/Balance/Bass & Stacked Treble/Mids + Frequency Selector/Active-Passive Switch

Bridge: Manufactured by Leduc in Aluminum and Bronze saddles

    Finish: Very pleasant satin varnish

    Hardware: Black

    Straplock: Schaller

The action at the 12th position under the B string is currently 2.25mm and 1.5mm under the C string. You can still go down, but for my right hand attack it buzz a little too much, and I set the neck almost perfectly straight in the treble and with a slight hollow in the bass to have a nice mwah and a nice presence in the bass. Note the absence of neck issue on this bass, the action at the end of the neck is essentially the same.

It is strung with 32-125 steel strings, lightly played, but this gives it a very nice grain.

Delivered with the original custom-made case which has been worn but is in good condition and does the job.

    Year of manufacture: 1990

    Country of manufacture: France

    Weight: 4.3kg

    Serial Number: 7432-K

    Price: €2500 negotiable

You will find the photos in HD right here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-IefTDB23cJ3oODjRK0-VfqO5ZQRfWIn

For the neck profile it is a very flat and fast D, the opposite of a PB neck.

I'm selling it because I prefer the more "modern" fretless, I have a Status which already suits me perfectly so I don't need it.

On the other hand, for those who want THE fretless sound that everyone has in mind, it's a killer, with very high-level craft and, above all, instruments that will become rare because Leduc has stopped taking orders.

I'm going to make some sound shortly for those who are interested, otherwise go to PM I already have sound on video.

Concerning trades I am open, fretted and fretless from 4 to 6 strings, do not hesitate to offer me, in the worst case I will just say no.

Do not hesitate if you have any questions and shipping is obviously possible.

I tried a few sets on my fretted basses.

The 4 strings set was engaging, that's why I bought a fiver and a sixer set, and there came the utter deception: both B strings were dead sounding and C string was really dull and I also had a weaker sounding A string in one set.

Cheap, but not reliable and the patent they pretend to have doesn't exist at all.

I came back to the good ol' Elixir's.

    Weaker sounding E string. 😉😅

  5. Hello everyone !

I am selling some basses to finance a new purchase.

Here is a sumptuous Jerzy Drozd Obsession 6-string named The White Walker (slight reference to GoT I imagine).
It is in excellent, if not new, condition. The white color is just beautiful and the playing comfort of the neck is extra. The varnish is super soft to the touch and it's a real pleasure to play this bass.

On the sound side, we're on something that looks a lot like a big modern Jazz Bass with monstrous lows and a superb growl, a kind of mix between Fbass and MTD.
The resonance of the body and in the neck is also a real pleasure.

The bass is well balanced and the body shape is really comfortable.
Entirely handmade in Spain, these instruments are flawless in finish (those who know know what I'm talking about).

You can listen it just here :

Apparently Tony the product is listed as unavailable on their site. This is the case in France and perhaps not in Belgium?

  8. Already showed here, but it’s my new Leduc Masterpiece Fretless, one of the most beautiful. The sounds is just out of this world.

I owned and played several very good fretless (Pedulla, Le Fay, Laurus, ACG, FBass, Status, Noguera, ESP, Takamine, others Leduc, etc…) and for me it’s just THE BEST OF THEM.

And woods are so incredible on it, it’s a gem.

Thank you very, very much @Hellzero.
