    just my two cents: Communication is its own skill. Some folks have expansive knowledge on the technical end. Some have the artistry to work with their materials (woodworking). Some folks are natural communicators. I'd sacrifice the comm skills if my builder has the artisty and knowledge. Of course all three is the desire. But once I get my instrument the 2 are all that matter.

    three switches down is all three pups in parallel for the V2. 4 switches down is series. on the v2 if you press 3 buttons down is the same as pressing the first button. both pups in parallel. four buttons down is in series.

    yep its 4. and it takes some practice to engage. It's a lighter touch than you might think. I love how the forum jumps in and helps answer the questions posted. You guys are awesome.

    We get 100s of emails a day, some slip through. im going to double check if we are getting shopify emails. i have seen them, but Im not sure who actually checks for them.     Hey all! This is Sonia from Nordstrand (hence the NordyGrrl moniker.) Sorry I don't spend as much time on here. I'll try and be more diligent. OK V2: • it is not a replacement for V1 • it's tonal range lies on the upper end and overlaps a bit on the higher end of V1, which sits more on the lower end. • the guts are assembled here and installed into the V1 bodies. • were are not currently selling the guts as a drop into the V1. I don't see that happening anytime soon There will not be a longer version of these basses. A 5 string will happen at some point but not manufactured for a couple of years at least. Hipshot does manufacture the heads and bridges. Screws were a little loose on a few bridges of the first run, (problem solved with a little loctite glue.) Mainly folks were not installing their strings properly. The current batches are extra tight, so hipshot must have heard your cries. Black bridges are not available. If you want a fretless, you can order a fretted and put fretless in the notes. The price is the same. (we only have one de-fretted neck available at this time, but you do have a choice between white lines or black, so please specify) First come first served. I'm sure to have missed other questions, so you can tag me in questions and I'll try to keep up.

    There were certain intentions made when we did not initially produce a 5-string option of this bass. While we absolutely knew there would be a demand for a 5 string, it really didn't fit the retro vibe/aesthetic, tone specs, etc. It's a 4 string for a reason, the right tool for what's intended. As musicians and artists, I'm sure you understand. That being said we NEVER say Never here at Nordstrand. Stranger things have happened. I don't see it happening in the near future, as there are lots of ideas for new goodies lined up over here at the shop. Just. You. Wait.
