According to the listing it sounds like this bass. That's been edited! The original version had him making a grand entrance through the curtains to the right!

Mesas are notoriously expensive to repair. Sick Amps in Harlow are a Mesa Authorised repairer and they charge £180 just to look at a Mesa amp, they'll repair it within that cost if it's easy enough but if it requires parts then it'll be more, and parts are difficult to come by from Mesa. Not sure it's worth the return.
I can confirm this, from knowing a guy that had a Mk IV that was constantly playing up on gigs. He eventually retired it.

There's a Jazz Bass rout? Is that it behind the swimming pool?

Hi, Clarky. Do you have the original wavy Grovers?
-
1. My old Steiny XL2A. Flogged it once, bought it back 7 years later, and sold it again 12 years later. Mug.
2. Both my late '90s Warwick Thumb NT basses: a fretted and a UF.

Yes but then they wouldn't be able to keep up with the demand (I expect).
Even if they could, they wouldn't; they like to control supply. And I'm pretty sure every Rick that leaves the factory is already paid for.

One of his ebay auctions has a link to him playing.
I can't go there, but was it 'A night in Langley'?

I wouldn't like to lug that beastie around a stage for 2 hours.....
Mind you he has got some class...looks like he's playing through acoustic cabs.
The rig of choice, back then.

There's something Derek Smalls about Mick and this bass. Did Harry Shearer ever see this band?
-
Has he bought a router??

I know this is a bass forum and bass thread, but I've been tempted, in the past, to order a Firebird I, but I've never been confident in the comms I've had from the shops involved.

ALiExpress gear has been left wanting when it comes to actives. What's in this bass?

That was 2020 @NikNik they seem to do very short runs of finishes etc - their Instagram page is very cool.

And Ben Hall (Hall Jr) has his own profile…

I don't do Insta or FB, so I miss these things., sadly. Still, nice to see them on here, and to witness Ben's willingness to reissue older models.

JH defiantly said RIC would never reissue the 4002, so if the 4005 is coming out, what chance the 4002?

It undoubtedly makes a significant contribution, but seeing as passive Wal's reportedly also have the same characteristic 'core tone', I believe the pickups (and how they are wired?) make an equal or possibly even greater contribution.
Ah, right! Ok.

I thought the filter circuit was most of the Wal tone?

Bridge.
I've tried the Hipshot; didn't like it. I have the Allparts on a Greco copy and it's never moved in years.
Scratchplate.
Try Rickysounds in UK.
Tuners.
I would not swap out the wavy Grovers, if that's what you have.
