  1. Hi there, **PRICE DROP TO £625** I'm selling an MTD Kingston Super 5 string bass guitar (NO TRADES) that has had a nordstrand bigman 5 pickup (£185) installed in the bridge position. Bought from bass direct roughly 3 years ago and is currently selling for £950 new. Amazing looking and sounding bass in great condition, really has been a reliable workhorse. Played a lot of gigs with no dramas or faults. One of the most comfortable basses I've ever played and feels super solid for a production model. I am only getting rid of it as I don't need the longer 35 inch scale length, so basically downsizing. The body has some slightly wear and tear around it, some slight buckle rash and mild shiny patch around the thump position. Small amount of tarnish on the bridge but minimal. Small marks on the top of the headstock from bumping into things, but again very minor. Neck is in amazing condition with no visible marks. Overall it's in very great condition but has been well played, most of the commented areas you have to be looking very hard to find anything. Currently all nicely set up in C# standard. Amazingly powerful electronics onboard with the ability to set the humbuckers in either parallel/single/series individually with the mini toggles and then blend between the two. The also a 3 band EQ. So you can almost get any sound you want on this. I upgraded the bridge pickup to make it a little more powerful as it's naturally the quieter pickup of the two, there was a view to upgrade the other but found a great sound so didn't bother. Hardware is solid, zero fret helps to allow for a low lovely low action is desired. The 35 inch scale length creates an amazing low B due to the extra tension. The scratchplate is hand-made by myself and stuck on with double sided tape. The compartment to get into the truss rod adjuster is below is, but it's easy enough to access, just didn't want to put screws into the body. This doesn't come with a case. Ideally looking for a local pickup from bath, but can deliver by car within reasonable distance for the price of fuel or I'm happy to meet up halfway somewhere to exchange. I can arrange shipping within UK if none of the above options are possible. I've attached a YouTube demo of the 4 string version of the bass. Any questions just pop me a message on here. Kind regards, Kieran Product Description (Bass Direct): The MTD Kingston Super is the perfect combination of beauty and brawn. The stunning carved body and premium finishes perfectly support an incredibly powerful electronics package. How powerful, you ask? Well, in addition to a 3-band active preamp, Michael Tobias included a three way mini-switch for each MM-style pickup. In the down position the pickups are in humcancelling series mode, which gives a big, bold, punchy sound. In the middle position the pickups are in single coil mode, making them sound bright and twangy. In the up position the pickups are in humcancelling parallel mode and they sound bright and sweet, with a slightly lower output than series mode. When both pickups are in single coil mode they are hum cancelling when the blend pot is centred. Lightweight instruments with a huge array of old school and modern tones, easy string changing, massive sustain, in tune where ever you play, comfortable and super fast neck. That is a lot of tonal flexibility! Michael has given you a massive pallet of sonic colours. So get yourself a MTD Kingston Super and start painting! 2. Hi there, I am selling my Helix rack as I am downsizing to a more portable setup (HX Stomp). Cheapest I've seen is £979 new so £760 for basically new is a cracking deal. Everything is in nearly new condition, no scratches or dents and all in perfect working order. Bought new and popped straight into a rack case. I do really love this setup but I require something more portable to fly with. This will include power cables and the original box for helix. Pickup from Bath would be preferable, but I don't mind delivering personally or meeting up half way within a reasonable distance. If personal delivery within reasonable distance isn't available I can post it first class recorded which will be included in the price. No trades. Any questions please drop me a message on here. For decades now Line 6 have been leading the wave of digital amp simulation ever since they launched the POD all the way back in 1998. Now the next wave of premium products is here with the Helix Rack System. Using Line 6's dual DSP HX modeling engine you can get even closer to the sound in your head at your feet. Every Nuance Captured Line 6 have always had a great attention to detail but what they have done for the Helix is from another world. They have gone through and perfectly modeled every amplifier in the Helix from the power amp to the preamp even to going as far as to measure the power sag in the amp and implement that in to the models. If you have ever wondered if a digital amplifier can feel like the real thing it is really worth coming down and plug in in to the Helix you will not believe what this one unit can do. So Many Options Line 6 have spent years developing the Helix to be everything it is right now. So they didn't just want to stop at delivering the best possible amp and effects modeling but also incredible levels of control that you have never had before. That is why you can run up to four amplifiers simultaneously with up to 32 effects all running on four discrete stereo signal paths for ultimate clarity. You really can take full advantage of every effect, amplifier, cabinet and mic to make your own distinct sound that no one else has. Connectivity It is likely that you have already built up a rig of your own that you love the sound of. Line 6 know that you aren't just going to chuck out all of your boutique effects and amplifiers so they have included enough connectivity so you can use all of your own gear. With the ability to not only run four loops of your own external effects pedals but also change the channel on your amplifier either via MIDI or 1/4" jack this will soon become the centerpiece of your entire rig. All Reinvented UI We all know one of the biggest pains with digital amp systems is that they take so long to set up and changing things on the fly is not easy. Line 6 went above and beyond to make sure that wasn't the case with the Helix. Fitted with a 6.2" LCD display which shows your guitars signal path which can be easily navigated using the 6 smart edit knobs and master control knob you will be up and editing in 5 minutes of setting up the Helix. Tour Ready With all this tech isn't it more likely for something to go wrong? Not at all, Line 6 have spent a long time finding all of the strongest possible parts so that you can take this on the road without failure. Built with a solid-aluminum construction and with controls so strong they will go for years before they even think about failing the Helix has been made with touring guitarists in mind so you can rest assured that this will survive anything you can throw at it. Getting Gig Ready Having your system in a rack can be incredibly useful for live and studio use as it means all of your gear and controls are in one place. 4. Hi there, I am selling my Mesa Boogie Powerhouse Standard 2x10 600W 8 Ohm bass cab with Silver Grille (PRICE DROP TO £300). Only selling as I am making the jump across to full in ear monitoring so will be surplus to requirement. It is in perfect working order and in great condition with minimal wear and tear. Full specs are as follows: - Power Handling: 600 Watts - Impedance: 8 Ohms - Speakers: 2-10" Mesa Custom Powerhouse, Mesa High-Frequency Horn - Dimensions: 24.5" x 19.5" x 17" - Weight: 62 lbs I have previously owned a 4x10 mesa powerhouse standard and barely noticed any difference when downsizing to the 2x10, crazy amounts of power and low end for a much smaller package. There are some screw holes on the bottom (see picture) that a previous owner used for casters, meaning the holes are there if you fancy popping casters back on. Collection from Bath is preferably, but I can deliver within a reasonable distance at the buyers expense (price of fuel). Only looking for a sale, no trades. Message me through basschat if you have any questions. Thanks for looking Kieran
  5. Thanks for the replies, I will have a chat with my friend about the likelihood of getting hold of a different fretboard wood. In the meanwhile, does anyone know rough prices of CITES import/export certificates before I start researching?
  6. Hi all, I have a friend in South Africa who builds basses as a hobby, he is building me one for free and will be shipped across to the UK. The fretboard is Indian Rosewood so I'm just wanting to know if it will run into any problem through customs due to the recent rosewood cites regulations? I've read all the cites information I can get my hands on and due to there being 'no sale' I think it falls under the category of 'non-commercial' so shouldn't be affected by it, but does anyone have any experience on this matter? Are there any certificates required for shipping even though it would be classed as a gift or any advice on steps to take to not run into any problems. Thanks in advance, Kieran
  7. Hi there, I'm selling my Mesa Boogie 4x10 Standard Powerhouse Bass Cab as I am moving to a flat that has awkward metal stairs, so there's no way I can house this gem of a cab anymore. It is without doubt the best bass cab I've ever played, I'm super sad to let it go but I need to downsize. It has some minor scuffs down the side (see pictures) from transporting/gigging but is it perfect working order. TRADES CONSIDERED: - Smaller cabs (2 x 10, 2 x 12 ect.) plus cash - 7 string guitar of similar value DELIVERY/COLLECTION: Pick up from Bath is ideal but I will consider personal delivery at buyers expense (fuel cost for trip there and back) but within reasonable distance. TECH SPECS (From mesa site): Style/Type - Tuned Front Ported Tri-Porting™ Speaker(s) & Mounting Position - Custom Eminence toned for Standard PH Cabs High Frequency Horn - Yes Horn Control and Protection - Player Control™ Network: Selectable 3-Point Crossover (3k/4k/5k), Premium Attenuator & Instant Reset Horn Protection Wattage - 600 Watts Cabinet Impedance - 8 Ohm Connectors - Combination Speakon & 1/4" Input & Paralleled Output Transport Assistance - Included - Track-Loc™ Removable Casters More info can be found on their site. Any questions/offers, message me privately on here Cheers, Kieran
