Trace Elliot GP12 122h 2x10 combo, 300 (Trace) Watts!
Collection only (or meet up with 45 minutes of my house) due to the heft!
Lots of features including:
- Green illuminated control panel
- 12 band graphic EQ
- Pre-Shape filter (for that classic Trace sound)
- Valve Drive
- Two Band compressor
- Harmonic EmphasisIt weighs about 35kg which although heavy by today's lightweight class D amplifiers it can be carried by one with the handy side handles.
I bought this combo from this forum a few weeks ago, thank you very much UKLefty :). Sadly I just don't find myself using it and it's taking up a lot of room in my small office space.
I've always wanted to experience that classic trace thing, I started my bass playing journey in a world of light weight class D heads and light weight cabinets. This combo has taught me the true meaning 'heft' and what a real watt sounds like! It's in immaculate condition and all works perfectly.
Here's the original ad (I recycled the pictures):

I hummed and hahed about a restricted view table but figured that the hassle it will take me to get there and the amount of decent gigs I actually get to see due to living in Sticksville meant I pushed the boat out and hope to recoup the cost of the extra 2 tickets. Your drummer friend has excellent taste. But then so does Nate (1st name terms). I saw the band last time around and have never witnessed such ensemble playing in any genre, anywhere.
It doesn't look like my restricted view table is any cheaper than your full frontal one! Unfortunately it was all that was left, your post alerted me to the gig but slim pickings left. Still I'm really looking forward to it, both the Kinfolk albums are great

See you there
Yup
Sadly we could only get a 'restricted view' table, I hope it won't be too bad or that we can move around.
But just being there will be great, my drummer friend is a Nate Smith nut.

I just booked a table too :).
love Nate Smith and Kinfolk!!

Lol a nice chin rest!
Hip height is only slightly below where I have mine 🤔
Why not measure up your existing strap (I used the centre points of the strap button holes) and see how it compares 😀. It will give you an idea if your bass would be higher or lower than existing position.

Hi Guys,
I've been using the free trial of Steinberg's SpectraLayers for the past month to isolate vocal and drum tracks, and to remove the bass from songs to hcreate some backing tracks for jam sessions when it's just me, guitar and drums or for home practice / jamming.
My trial has just expired and the full version of Spectralayers is pretty pricey, I would have considered elements or upgrading to Cubase Artist with includes the 'One' version but they are limited to vocal unmixing only.
Is any one aware of any more cost effective tools for that do this job? My drummer friend has used Moises but on the exports he provided me the sound quality was pretty poor.
I don't fully understand how the unmixing process is achieved but is there a manual way to do the same thing? Is it as basic as identifying the right EQ ranges?
Any advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I've always been after one of these! To try out before getting one made. When you say short! Do you mean 5ft 7" short 😂
I need to measure my Richter.
Ha, yeah actually I'm around 5ft 7 / 5ft 8.
At the shortest setting my ibanez SR hangs around hip height, so it's not down around my knees or anything but I'm favouring a slightly higher bass position these days.

Thanks for the tag @Al Krow. The ii V I vocab book is interesting. I'll have to see if it's still available after pay day.
I'll have to look into Levine's Jazz Theory book too. That sounds good.
Show us your rig!
