1. I've got this rig plus the rs210 cab and it is shocking when you put the two together. I recently played with a 10k rig and the sound engineer was screaming at the tech to turn the bass down in the mix and I wasn't even going through the PA.

Have a top rig bump on me

  2. After someone asked me a question about the 'tone pump' preamp I emailed Spector and asked them for some info about the bass.

This is the email I recieved back from them.

    hello -

thanks for the email. I am glad you are interested in our basses.

NB 5811 : made at our Czech factory in 2006. our import serial numbers give us only the year of production
    in terms of info.

we have current EuroLX models on our site, a bass from 2006 would be the same except the TonePump would not
have internal output trim pot. and if 5st or 6st, EMG pickups would be DC version, not single/dual coil version. these two
    changes were made in 2008.

    I hope this info helps.

  3. Hello there,

After careful consideration I am putting up my 4 string Spector LX for some sort of trade offers.
Its a lovely bass, lovely to look at has a great sound. Its just not getting a look in at the moment since I acquired a Shuker a couple of years ago.

The bass is in excellent condition, it has a couple of tiny scratches near the jack plug which I've tried to show in the photographs.

I would like to trade ideally for something Fender Jazzish, active set up preferably with a maple neck. I am absolutely open to offers from just about anything though :)

As a rough guestimate I would consider a trade price of about 600/700??

(now for sale - £800 or nearest offer) - NOW £700!!!

    thanks for yer time :)

  4. Hi guys,

When the real book app for the iPhone was first released it had all the real book tunes programmed in. The latest version does not (due to copyright infringement). However it does now come with the facility to back up you tunes via email. So if you know somebody who bought the first version they could email you the list of tunes.

    Just a thought.

Ps. I've got the previous version :)

  5. Hi Big J,

im suprised you need to be in the same venue with that rig :) but sorry mate, im looking for a kinda modular setup with various cab options like the TC Electronic stuff, so i can play smaller venues when needed but still have the capacity to take extra speakers, thanks anyway!

  6. SOLD

    Hi there,

im selling my beloved Phil Jones rig and extension cab as its become a bit surplus to requirements. Unfortunately im playing less and less upright and more and more electric bass and I just need a slightly bigger rig. I love this amp, its tone is absolutely superb. I've never heard such a clean tone from a bass amp. It's one of the reasons I liked it in the first place. (the guitarist in a jazz band i play in loves putting his 335 through this rig!!).

    the suitcase spec is here

    the 4B spec is here

    http://www.philjonespuresound.com/products/?id=21

it also comes with the ridiculously thick Phil Jones Speakon connector which comes in its own box on a velvet cushion (honest!!)

there are a couple of slight scuffs on the side of the amp and the speaker (came loose in transit and slid around), ive since bought a couple of padded amp covers from the ROQSOLID boys which I will obvious chuck in gratis.

If anyone is interested ill post up some pics later when i get home,

  7. Hi Guys,

Just a quick one: Ive been playing with a Phil Jones Suitcase rig with the 4b extension cab for about 18month now and its a great bit of kit. I play both upright and bass guitar and it suits all my needs gig wise. I play in couple of quieter jazz combos and do some reasonably loud covers gigs in a funk band. I also have played a couple of bigger venues recently, and the suitcase, with its cab, hasnt let me down once.

Im just getting a bit TC curious and fancy a change (my back is also moaning about the suitcase but thats another story!).

Im thinking about the RH750 and maybe a Rebel 210 with the 112?

anyone had any experience with both rigs? Obviously i dont really want to trade in something that Im happy with for something that dosent do what i require but the TC stuff seems to get loads of positive reviews and i noticed they literally fly out the basschat marketplace when they come up!

any views would be greatly appreciated!

    Cheers

  8. hi guys,

once again the debt monkeys are at the door so its time to flog off some of my studio gear (boo hoo). anyway here goes.

Mackie DFX-12 - exellent little mixer, served me well both in the studio and at the occasional live gig. Typical Mackie clean sound and definately built like a tank. in absolutely mint condition internally, everything working correctly etc. Unfortunately i scratched it whilst taking some tape off under the faders, (as seen in photos) and am a complete git. paid about £250 for this about 3 years ago, just watched one go on ebay for £120 so offers around this mark would be great.

Fostex DE-10 - never used this, it was a spontaneous purchase around a year ago when i came across some hardware being sold as a job lot. Ive not idea who these were aimed at but heres a review from sound on sound way back in 2002.

how does £40 plus postage sound?

Lexicon MPX-550 - reverb unit. - awesome little rack mountable reverb. Bit gutted to be letting this go TBH, it has a lovely array of reverbs and some funky little harmony functions that are very usable live. Heres the sound on sound review

these cost around £400 new so how does £150 ono sound?

Behringer MULTICOM PRO-XL - rackable 4 way compressor unit, pretty useful piece of kit, mainly used for live sound on drum kit.

    http://www.dolphinmusic.co.uk/product/2200...m_campaign=base

these retail for about £100 so how does £40 sound?

would prefer these units to be collected but i will send them if its impossible for you to get near Manchester.

    thanks for looking!

    Andy
