Body’s dry now this Osmo oil is good stuff…expensive tho 23 odd quid for a 750 tin. I’ve got plenty left so if anybody fancied some give me a shout….anyway here’s the control covers. Away to give body another coat….by the way it’s 1101 oil I used

Body’s still a bit tacky after 3 coats of this oil stuff, should be fine tomorrow. 

Well, being a tight Fifer I made two control plates up using 1.5 aluminium. One a standard bell plate & the other a Tele like version…I’ll probably go with the bell plate I think, dunno, not sure 🤔 

First coat of Osmo oil/wax today. I noticed I’ve got a mark just at the back of the rear pickup which I did try to remove but got no place….could be a glue mark.

Are you doing that slurry method or just wiping it on ? 

Hope it goes well for you, I’m not after a gloss finish either I’m sure the Osmo oil/wax leaves a satin finish. One thing I did buy a wee while ago for another project was scuff pads I went over the body with a 800 and it removed some hairy type bits no problem….🙂

Cheers for the feedback gents I’ll have a read up on your projects later on. The body’s even got the router hump near the neck pocket which I’ve never heard of before but it seems that was the thing away back then. 

Took delivery of this guitarbuild Jazz body yesterday with a maple flame top & swamp ash. Really undecided on a finish except I’ll be using Osmo oil but not very sure how to go about sealing the swamp ash or if I need too. I’m after a natural finish really. The body’s a 60’s Jazz hence the hole emitted for the bridge wire.

@anzoid….the Wudtone finishing kit, how easy is it to apply & what stages are there ? Yeah I know there’s a web page but I’d rather read it with somebody 1st hand. Cracking build by the way & I’ll second you about Jasmine at guitarbuild 1st class

In short, I have no idea, sorry.  I normally adjust to suit the output so as to avoid clipping, but that's about as scientific as I get.

Did you get BassDirect fixed oot with your order Alain ? Was it a pulse II ?

Also the other issue is that the bridge on this one sticks out a lot more than on my other Euros because the neck is angled slightly,  not flat to the body like on the others so the pickups are at a higher level.

Could some Spector gent give me pickup height for active EMG’s….there a P&J set. Either the height from under the strings or from the body. I’ve been told before but can’t remember Strongbows got a lot to answer for.

Tech 21 Steve Harris. Bought this minus instructions & power supply for £250 the settings are available online so no worries there. Picked up a Mooer power supply for £20 which I can include but the hound had a chew at the wires…good job it wasn’t switched on or she would have looked like a burst couch….it works fine tho. The original tin’s had a bashing but does the job too. All in it cost me 270 so the asking price seems fair. I’ve got plenty + feedback. P&P included. Reduced price 200 bangers
