  1. No, so you are free to use any tuners that fit.
  2. Just a word of caution, your tuners from the old broken neck may not fit. The holes are smaller than most Mexican Fender necks, so if the bushings seem tight don’t force them in as roasted maple is prone to cracking as one unlucky guy on Talkbass found out. I ended up going with Hipshot Ultralights on mine. https://www.talkbass.com/threads/tuner-bushings.1416584/
  3. A Google Lens search only shows two matching results for the picture on the web, this thread and another identical thread on TalkBass. The other similarity is the thread author's name on both threads.
  4. If the stealth black had also been listed in Andertons sale I think I would have got both and swapped the necks.
  5. It weighs 4.3 Kg on my scales.
  6. The Kiloton Tribute I got from Andertons a couple of weeks ago was exactly the same, there was a little plastic tab protruding from the end of the nut and the slots weren't cut deep enough. I've got a set of Hosco nut files so it didn't take long to sort out the nut height and I carefully removed the tab at the same time.
  7. Now down to £379 which was too hard to resist. 😎
  8. I went with the Gator G-PG-semi-hollow / v bag for mine. https://www.gatorcases.com/products/guitar/pro-go-ultimate-guitar-gig-bags/pro-go-guitar/335flying-v-guitar-gig-bag-g-pg-335v/
  9. You may be surprised to learn the MIM active deluxe models had already hit the £1K mark with the last Fender price increase back in January. https://www.gear4music.com/Guitar-and-Bass/Fender-Deluxe-Active-P-Bass-Special-PF-Olympic-White/1ZDL?origin=product-ads&gclid=CjwKCAjw4qCKBhAVEiwAkTYsPNetAqMvlp5h8KEDSjEYEu2JDn6DHC7r9zrgp0n7ITUdEeKyyWY0jxoCHMgQAvD_BwE They were priced around £800 two years ago when I managed to pick up a B-stock P bass without the gig bag for £600. It's not just Fender though, the Sterling Ray 34 has also crept up to become a £1K bass and it's not that long ago they were only £600 in the shops.
  10. Yeah, there's a photo in that thread of his Tutmarc alongside the first bass that was sold by Fender, not sure if it was the first one made though. He's also got at least another six 1951 P basses in his collection.
  11. A member on TalkBass owns one of them, he talks about buying it and other Tutmark guitars and amps in this thread.
  12. The nut height on mine was way too high. On the E string it was over .025” at the first fret while fretted at the third fret, going down to .018” on the G. It’s now down to .005-.006” and feels just right. The neck relief was already correct so I only had to give the action a slight tweak and it’s now ready for it’s first rehearsal next week.
  13. It says it's tuned down on the web site...
  14. They already sell short scale roundwounds but not the flatwound strings fitted on this bass..
  15. Just had my shipping notification, it's being delivered tomorrow.
  16. The pelham blues are back in stock at Guitarguitar so hopefully PMT will be getting theirs soon. I’ve also got one pre-ordered with them so fingers crossed.
  17. Yep, that’s me. I think you are right, either Ernie Ball or the UK importer has got greedy but I think it’s going to backfire on them and sales are going to dry up with the new high prices. I was expecting an increase of £200-£300 in line with the USA but there’s no justification for the huge pice hike we are getting. I’m so glad I got hold of my 4HH last year. It’s a great £2K bass but there’s no way I would have gone for it if I had to pay an extra £750 - £1000 on top.
  18. I used Eurosender to post a bass this week and it seems to have gone well. I placed the order on Monday, it was collected on Tuesday by DPD and was delivered yesterday afternoon. It cost £25.71 (including non-Sterling fee) for a UK to UK delivery with €1000 insurance cover which I think is a decent price, though the BASSCHAT10 code only gave a €0.96 discount.
  19. Hipshot BT8 Extender in Chrome. Fits Fender American Standard Jazz & Precision basses from 2008+. Easy to fit, just needs 5 minutes and a 19mm A/F spanner. As new condition, includes set-up instructions. Free postage to mainland UK. Note: Fits And works on current American Fender basses but doesn’t match the new fluted tuners.
  20. I love the colour but didn’t like the white scratch plate on my Jaguar so it was swapped for a black one.
  21. Justin Meldal-Johnsen is a regular poster on Talkbass and he is running rounds on his signature bass, though he’s still got flats on his original Mustang. He has also confirmed it’s coming out in black.
